it is a department store restaurant trying to serve tapas. It is not bad, but certainly not the #1 restaurant in thousand oaks. It is a good place to stop if you are shopping.
This wonderful small plate restaurant tucked inside Nordstrom's has been a favorite of mine for quite some time. Typically, I go here with girlfriends or my husband, but I took my 14 year old daughter this time & she can't wait to go back. This is now her favorite restaurant! The idea here is to order multiple items and share... More
Went to the Blue Stove for the first time with my Mom and we loved it! The food was AMAZING and the service was FANTASTIC!! Everyone we encountered at the Blue Stove was very nice but our server Erin was AWESOME! Very knowledgeable and friendly!! We shared the Lemon Scented Risotto with Seared Scallops & French Beans, The Korean BBQ... More
I love going here for lunch because you can share and taste different dishes. A heads up though- my husband doesn't like going here at all because he doesn't feel satisfied by the portions of food served and we'd have to order a lot for that to happen which isn't worth it price-wise to him. Going here with my oldest... More
I’ve eaten at various cafes in several Nordstrom’s throughout Southern California and found the food fresh and good. Blue Stove is a cut above all other restaurants. The atmosphere is quiet and almost elegant. The servers are attentive and accommodating. The food is fresh, creative and prepared to the diners preferences. In a word “Wonderful”. Four adults ate at the... More
I went here for lunch with a girlfriend. Food was good but I thought the portions were ridiculously small. I could have eaten twice the amount of food they gave me. Left the restaurant hungry.
I went here with my mom & sister for an early dinner & we were pleasantly surprised by both the delicious food & attentive service. We ordered five small plates for the table, but the chicken lime tacos & the spinach/fuji apple salad were by far our favorites (I also enjoyed the ricotta meat balls as well). You would never... There's not much to add to the superlative reviews below. Getting to the point, you can reserve a table at Blue Stove for a Saturday night (mind you that the store closes at 8:00, but that didn't seem to matter on our visit) almost the same day. Not many people know that (yet) and if the thought of going to... More
I went to the restaurant because it was well reviewed on another site. The place is lovely, the service was good, the lemonade tasty as well as the bread and olive oil. The mains were like eating a bar of salt. I had the arugula and crispy polenta salad which was so salty that I couldn't taste the peppery arugula.... More
Traveled from Ventura to try this No 1 Thousand Oaks' restaurant. It was so worth the drive. The food was fresh and innovative and the portions were large enough to share, but small enough that you could try several if you were alone. We tried the Shrimp & Grits -shrimp were firm & flavorful, grits were creamy and mouthwatering. The... More
