If you enjoy extremely hot chile this is the only place in town to get it. It is hot so order it on the side. Even though it is hot I found myself pouring more and more on my meal. Weekend breakfast specials are a great bargain. If you go by for lunch the burger is one of the better... More

The food is good and the service is fast and friendly. The green chile is very good, but also very hot I order it on the side.

Great little "greasy spoon" the shuttle driver called it! Good food, lots of food! I had the breakfast burrito. : )

This place was totally unexpected. Had we not read someone else's comment that this was a Mexican restaurant, we would have gone right by it and missed some of the best food around. The setting is more like an old diner or cafeteria, no pretense here. And, no alcoholic beverages. We were surprised to find posole on the menu. Not... More

Had heard green chili was very hot. Burned stomach inspire of sour cream. Salsa so so. Suggest getting what ever their special is. Pasole looked good. Several locals at bar. Special cheaper than mcd's

A bit beyond the main tourist area, but absolutely worth visiting- often! Not a fancy hype spot. Always plenty of patrons, locals. That's how I discovered it, from a local. Recipes from grand mom, family owned and operated. Best chili anywhere I tried! Specials are offered daily. Even though the place was always busy seating and service was quick. Servings... More

Horseman's Haven serves authentic New Mexican food. Prices are reasonable. Portions are big. Located by a gas station where it's been for decades it's not a fancy place (the original building was a lot more charming). The decor is a bit long in the tooth and feels like it's not being maintained. The green chile is very good and spicy.... More

We recently tried a new (to us) restaurant in Santa Fe. It was very good. They handled our group well; the food arrived hot and promptly. It was good Mexican food, not very chile hot, but good food none the less. We would eat here again.

Since 1981, the Romero family have been running Horseman's Haven. This place features the "hottest chile in town". This is not an idle boast. That's an attraction in the machismo part of Santa Fe culture. Without the chile, simple and well prepared. Green chile has a distinctive "lip burn" and plenty of bite everywhere else. Breakfast burrito that my husband... More

This is our all-time fav for breakfast in Santa Fe. It's a "locals" place for those who love hot chili (and I mean hot) We mostly have Huevos Rancheros green or Christmas (red and green) with lots of their amazing potatoes. All their food is good, very reasonable and fast. This is a triple D type place. Their servings always... More
