Really good Mexican food, with unique dishes that go well beyond the everyday tacos and burritos. Best dishes: Caldo Tilapeno, Camarones Barrachos Caution advised...the wall murals of frolicking colts (potrillos) can present an eye level view of an anatomically correct pony about 6 inches from your face when seated in one of the restaraunt's booths!

Grabbed a very good dinner here on a trip to Santa Fe. Extensive menu, that really needs to be reprinted. Clean but shabby. I ordered the guacamole appetizer - freshly made. It was wonderful! If you like guac, this is a big portion and absolutely delicious. The rest of the meal was very good as well. Service was a bit... More

I visit Los Potrillos often because I love their carne asada gorditas and their "frijoles rancheros." To me this is one of the few restaurants in town with real Mexican good, not New Mexican or Americanized food. Location is really easy to find (right on Cerrillos Rd) and about a 5 min drive from Downtown Santa Fe.

Went for lunch today. Pleasantly surprised! The menu is large(and frankly, the menus themselves need to be replaced), but everything thing was really good. I appreciated that the rice didn't have too much tomato flavor, and was light. The chips and salsa was a nice touch.

A good place for New Mexican style Mexican food. The red sauce was over powering to me. I will choose green next time.

Clean, friendly, good food. The horchata is so good. We had huevos rancheros and they were fantastic. We love Los Potrillos.

Nice people. Decent service. Loved my mango margarita. The food was decent but nothing special. I had the enchiladas and my son had a quesadilla. His was a little greasy. The menu they gave me had something on it...not sure if it was salsa or what it was but it kind of grossed me out. I went to the bathroom... More

It's on a main road and easy to find. Many Santa Fe residents eat here. It has an extensive menu of traditional Mexican food, and it seems to be run by one extended family. The dining room is one large square space with plenty of booths and rustic furniture. We had carne asada and mole chicken (yum). Both were very good.... More

If you are looking for real Mexican food, not Americanized Mexican, this is the place. Authentic dishes, served by friendly, helpful staff. Menu is varied from the more unusual to the standard fare. You can ask them to regulate the heat. It is not fancy, tables are open and it can be noisy, but if you are looking for good... More
