Los Potrillos (“The Colts” or “The Foals”) is a good Mexican restaurant located about two miles from the Santa Fe Plaza, thus priced quite a bit lower than similar fare near the Plaza. We were sent there by a local, and there appeared to be many local people there, plus tourists. The large menu is interesting and well-executed, and the... More

This is an easy restaurant to find--on a main street. That's what Los Potrillos has going for it. The tortilla chips were not crisp and crunchy. The entree was just so-so.

We have been to Los Potrillos twice, once for lunch and once for breakfast. Loved the food both times, plan to have dinner there next time we're in Santa Fe! Comfortable, sturdy chairs, authentic Mexican food (cabrito!), absolutely nothing to complain about. Try the Eggs Los Potrillos or the eggs scrambled with machaca, if you go for breakfast. I have two... More

You'll need some time to dig through the menu - it has more diversity than any other menu I've found in Santa Fe. My wife had asssorted enchiladas that she raved about, and thankfully shared with me. I had a pescado platter with beans, rice and pico de gallo that also was excellent. The only issue we had was in... More

BEWARE...Stopped here to eat before our camping trip and in the menue says that after 6 people gratuity is included so we didn't leave a tip. We stopped again after our camping trip and when the lady brought us our ticket she told us that gratuity wasn't included, she just wanted to tell us because we didn't leave a tip... More

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel - we are so glad we followed their advice. The restaurant was busy (groups of people waiting), but as a couple we were made to feel very welcome and quickly found a table. The margaritas we had are the best value we have had so far. My husband ordered the goat stew which... More

Okay, we're not experts in Mexican food so based on TA reviews we went to Los Potrillos. It was outstanding, The flavors were fresh and clean, the service quick and attentive, generous portions (had we known, we would've shared an entre) and all reasonably priced. Well done Los Potrillos!

Still a great stop for Mexican food in Santa Fe. Nothing fancy, just real people feeding locals great meals. Priced reasonably, but more importantly the service is excellent and everyone in extremely friendly from start to finish. The pico de gallo is the real deal...and hot...be careful. Margaritas are generous and tasty. This is a weekly meal when we are... More

This was our first visit to Los Portrillos and we were very impressed. We visited the restaurant at about 2:30 PM, well after the lunch rush and it was still about three quarters full. (Usually, a sign that people like the restaurant.) We had lunch and selected items that were no the usual TexMex fare. (I had a savory steak... More
