Superior Santa Fe service

Quaint. Sophisticated. Accommodating - gluten free croutons! Excellent wine list. Feels like a legitimate French bistro.

I sat at the chefs table and had a wonderful meal. I'm not that familiar with French food but the chef made me feel very welcome.

Bouche is an over-hyped bistro charging silly prices for humdrum French-like food. The wine list was limited and uninspired. The wine we ordered turned out to be unavailable except for half bottles. No effort to offer 2 half bottles for the price of one full size bottle. Seemed the waitress was more interested in sales than customer satisfaction. The lamb... More

Thank you for your review. We appreciate your feedback, and are happy that you enjoyed the lamb shank, which we source locally. I agree with you that we should have offered two half-bottles of the Sancerre at the price of the full bottle. As for the wine list, we feature more than 100 selections, which we hope offers enough variety... More

lackluster, small (even for french circumstances) portions, overpriced, so so waitstaff, seemed young and unexperienced and rather snotty.

We apologize for not meeting your expectations while dining with us. Our portion sizes tend to be on the large side, so I am assuming you might have been selecting from our small plates? With respect to our prices, we use extremely high-end ingredients (foie gras, sashimi-grade tuna, organic greens and vegetables), and we genuinely endeavor to deliver value within... More

This was by far the best meal I have every had in Santa Fe and one of the best in the US. The menu is terrific and every dish we sampled was wonderful. We had oysters on the half shell, escargot, sweetbreads and seared fois gras. Each dish was special and perfectly prepared. The bread was fantastic, made from a... More

I was talking to a fellow Santa Fean yesterday about how the quality of the restaurant scene seems to have declined overall in the past decade. Then, last night, we had dinner at Bouche. It is fine dining indeed. Our friends from La Jolla were with us. She was a restauranteur for many years and loved every bite. Chef Dale... More

Bouche is within walking distance of the Plaza and quite a nice find for French cuisine. After sharing an appetizer of grilled oysters (Adrienne), I had the fish special of broiled halibut with finger potatoes. Cooked perfectly! My husband had steak tartare with home-made potato chips, which was well-seasoned and delicious. We were not interested in wines other than a... More

This is a top Santa Fe Restaurant where I have eaten before. I was therefore disappointed when the thick slab of calves liver which I ordered had not been "deveined." I got several inedible pieces of gristle in my mouth...too large to swallow and inelegant to spit out. The pieces that were good, were delicious. The I ordered, according to... More

Went to Bouche Bistro on our first night of a much needed vacation to Santa Fe, and left hoping we had a better experience. I'll start with the good. We began with the Shellfish Platter. Excellent. Crab, Shrimp, Oysters...all very fresh and tasty. Would recommend. Now the complaints. There were three: 1. Sweetbread. Good sweetbread is amazing. Seared and crisp... More

Charles Dale, the chef/owner, continues to provide, too us, the best food and at the best price in Santa Fe. The menu utilizes excellent ingredients, prepared with care and attention, and price quite fairly. He is in the kitchen and pays close attention to the food, but also the guests, visiting with most tables thru the evening. Everytime we are... More
