Description: Opened in 2006 by Chef/Owner James Campbell Caruso (three-time James Beard Award Nominee), La Boca is an intimate Spanish tapas restaurant in the heart of downtown Santa Fe. Influenced by his travels in Spain, Chef James cultivates synergies of authentic Spanish ingredients to create dishes both traditional and modern. Dishes such as thinly sliced tuna drizzled with blood orange aioli and topped with kalamata olives and smoked sea salt create a constellation of different flavors in every bite. With the feel of a lively European wine bar, La Boca also features an extensive selection of carefully chosen mediterranean and South American wines. Knowledgeable and animated staff graciously guide customers to the perfect wine or sherry to complement their meals. La Boca is a proud participant in the Santa Fe Farm to Restaurant program. Please note: Because seating at La Boca is limited, reservations for parties over 4 must contact the restaurant

Wonderfully cooked small plates (especially the grilled artichokes) accompanied by the flight of sherries. A popular small place where you really must show up on time for your reservation...but you'll be glad you did! We came back for lunch a few days later and found it equally enjoyable.

Dinner at La Boca May 21. Reservations for a party of 6 and were seated on time. Menu is a bit difficult to navigate unless one is familiar with tapas menus. The server was helpful, (perhaps not happy), explaining the idea of shared dishes. All dishes we ordered arrived in a timely manner and were well prepared with quality ingredients.... More

Besides yummy tapas, the dessert is to die for! Sponge cake topped with crème fraiche and vanilla essence, surrounded by marinated sour cherries! There were 6 of us, and we had the most wonderful evening in this casual, intimate bistro-type restaurant. The service was very attentive and we enjoyed meeting the executive chef who spent time chatting with us. Be... More

Thanks to Tripadvisor and reviews from the Santa Fe newspaper we've been able to eat at some amazing places here (Cafe Jambo, La Cocina de Dona Clara, Mucho Gusto, Clafoutis, Kakawa Chocolate House). Sadly, this was not one of them. We went during happy hour and the staff and food seemed less than happy. Our waitress was more interested in... More

La Boca was my introduction to the fine dining available in Santa Fe. And it represented superbly. From the special chef's treat I had earned by attending the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque (La Boca was among restaurants to offer a special welcome treat) to each of the tapas that I ate, the flavors were a treat for the tastebuds. The... More

We felt so lucky to get a seat here on busy Thursday evening but didn't know how lucky we'd been, as travel weary tourists on our first night in Santa Fe. Not only was every tapas dish a delectable delight but the evening was made really special by the musicianship of Nacha Mendez, who played and sang Spanish and Latin... More

Very small and crowded. Eclectic tapas selections. We ordered several selections and all were delicious. Great wine list and also several selections of fine sherries. Reservations a must. Don't miss the Spanish Paella !

The over-crowded conditions made it not worth it. And having to get up and go find our waiter each time for additional service. But it was the meager portions that made me decide not to try it again.
