Coffee and Newstand

Great place to meet and greet, sit outside, enjoy great cup of coffee and any publication you might need. Close to Canyon Road, within walking distance.

A fun place to go for breakfast or light lunch.. and read!! You can tell by the title.. it's a place that sells the NY TIMES and all kinds of print.. and get different coffees or teas..and pastries or sandwiches.. etc.. A fun little happening place..

Used to be good. Today we ordered coffee. They made our drinks wrong and threw us out for saying so. New owners? Can only hope they fail soon

This is a fringe of downtown establishment where the locals go to get an above average cup of joe or a latte and read the New York Times or a specialty magazine. They carry periodicals on almost everything and are net to Garcia Street Books so there is always something to linger over.

I am a local who thought I would try DS again. They have a great selection of magazines and the atmosphere looks great. But my impressions is the same, great coffee mixed with a lot of local pretension. I think the attitude of the locals rubs off on the baristas. I live in the neighborhood, but will patronize elsewhere because... More

I lived near this cafe for awhile and I have always felt that they had great coffee. I just can't deal with the entitled and demanding customers. You'll see on here and on other sites, many people complaining about the service. I think the employees do an excellent job, considering the dump trucks full of B.S. they have to put... More

Excellent and smoothe. Extremely well-trained baristas with a "keep coming back" environment. Enjoy!

Good coffee, adequate atmospher....but that customer service...ouch. Perhaps the stress of preparing coffee cup after cup is too harsh on some personalities. Perhaps the vetting process should be more stringent.

We recently went on a trip out west and while we were in Santa Fe, we stopped by Downtown Subscription for pastries and coffee. I ordered a large cappuccino which was in a gigantic cup and was even better than the cappuccino we had in Italy. My husband said his coffee was the best he had ever had. They have... More

I was very surprised when I saw the good reviews for this coffee shop here. I have never been more disappointed or gotten worse service from a business. Please note that I've been here in multiple occasions, so I'm just gonna list a few of my experiences. The staff is not friendly at all, one time I walked in, and they... More
