After reading some of the other reviews, I was a bit hesitant to try, but I'm glad I did. First of all, the menu is very diverse with a lot of selections. I ordered the Pollo Adobe, which had a great red chile sauce, with a lot of spices. My wife had the Anchiote pork, very good also. The decor... more

This is a diner-type restaurant. The servers were all right. I had lamb souvlaki - good portions but the meat was tough in places. It came with some salad, fries, and pita-type bread which were decent. Perhaps simpler menu items are better, as the place was busy, including locals. more

We went here one night in hopes of good burgers and a couple milkshakes (standard diner fare, or so I thought). No milkshakes... oh well, not a big deal... I can't hold that against them. The burgers were ok, nothing special, but nothing bad either. The service was plain AWFUL. The server seemed uninterested and uninformed, he rarely even glanced... more

My mother (who traveled with me on this trip) and I ate here after two days of very rich New Mexican food. We both wanted something "non-exotic" for supper. She ordered the spaghetti and meatballs; I ordered a hamburger. Service seemed a little slow, and my mom's spaghetti had to be sent back for reheating as it was stone cold.... more

Because this was very close to our hotel, we ate here on three different occasions. But each time was a pleasing experience. They have pretty darn good New Mexican dishes, and also Gyros and Moussaka if you're into Greek food. They serve a nice local microbrewery stout ale which I liked. Also good coffee in the morning, beware of a... more

A shop owner in TAOS recommended this place to us. They are well known for their Chili. Owned by same family for over 112 years. Cute little diner like place right on the Plaza....has table and counter seating. Very homey and comfortable atmosphere. We went for late breakfast...We had a great friendly waitress..."Karen" I had the breakfast burrito with home... more

I loved the ambience most of all but the food was good and varied. From tamales to milkshakes. The Plaza Cafe dates back to the turn of the century (109 years ago, not 9 !). Not upscale, it's a diner! But I liked it! If you don't like coffee, try a Mexican hot chocolate with your cactus and steak tamales,... more

My wife and I shared the blue cornbread pancakes with pinon nuts and scrambled eggs with cactus. Both were very tasty. The pancakes were the best I've had anywhere. It's a simple little old style cafe with a lot of flavor at many levels. more

The first time I have ever posted a review. The good part first, the service was good. Now to the food. My wife and I both had hamburgers. They looked delicious, big fat burgers. I started with mine and never said a word until my wife said something first. The meat had no flaver at all. I ate about half... more

Had breakfast here and had a mixed experience. My wife liked hers but I was not happy with mine. It is like a diner. They make maximum use of the space available which means rubbing shoulders with the help as they serve the food. I had french toast which tasted somewhat like fat-free french toast. It was not rich like... more
