Description: Mark Kiffin, celebrated chef, owner, and author of the Compound...
Mark Kiffin, celebrated chef, owner, and author of the Compound Restaurant, has won the James Beard Foundation award as one of America's Best Chefs. The Compound is Santa Fe's premier restaurant with Chef Kiffin's acclaimed seasonal Contemporary American cuisine derived from Santa Fe's rich heritage of regional and Mediterranean influences. The New York Times, Gourmet magazine, The Wall Street Journal and Wine Spectator have all selected the Compound as Santa Fe's favorite. Equally impressive is the attentive, highly knowledgeable and friendly staff. Chef Kiffin's menus focus on the exclusive changes in seasons such as hearty braised dishes in the fall and winter using apples, pears and cider from local harvests, osso bucco and porcini risotto while in spring and summer feature fresh local vegetables and naturally raised organic lamb and delectable strawberries.

The atmosphere, food, cocktails and service were impeccable. We enjoyed a light meal of the Compound burger, corn soup, and organic mushroom polenta which were all perfection itself. As a starter, on the recommendation of our waiter, we had the otherworldly daily special of perfectly prepared Louisiana shitake mushrooms in a delicate butter - herb sauce. The only imperfection was... More

When we first arrived at the restaurant, I was somewhat apprehensive as the building's exterior and parking lot was not what I was expecting of a fine dining establishment. However, once inside I found the food to be a wonderfully prepared combination of flavors and textures. Service was courteous and professional and the presentation of food extremely enticing. Nice wine... More

We dined at The Compound during a July stay in Santa Fe. We arrived at the time of our reservation and were seated immediately. The staff was attentive and friendly, and the menu offered a number of attractive options. We both ordered seafood -- one halibut and one salmon entree. Both pieces of fish were very dry. The sides were... More

I had given up on high end restaurants in Santa Fe several years ago. I lost a bet and the Compound was the pay. Great patio seating. Good service although timing of the appetizers was erratic. The wine list is overpriced, but ask your server for a recommendation there are some values. Tomato salad=ok, Tuna tartare=delish, Veal porterhouse=awesome, Pork tenderloin=awesome.... More

I've been visiting Santa Fe every July for over twenty years, yet this was my first visit to Thr Compound on Canyon Road. The older I get, the longer it takes to walk this gorgeous street, and this time we decided to stop about 2/3 reds of the way. What a smart move! We sat outside on one of their... More

The Compound is an old favorite and we never miss a chance to dine there when we are in Santa Fe. This time we went for lunch because a conference schedule did not permit dinner. Ratings: Ambience: A. Service. A. Food quality: A-. Noise level: No problem. Cost: C (pretty high but worth it). The ding on food quality was... More

We simply love this restaurant for both lunch and dinner. The large covered patio is a wonderful setting, quiet and open. The food is always delicious and fresh. The staff are very accommodating to vegetarian and vegan options though the regular menu is a little light on these choices. We eat here every time we are in Santa Fe.

In the arts district of Santa Fe; great parking lot (parking is difficult in the area). They were gracious about honoring our reservations made through Open Table even though I made it for the wrong night. The food was good; especially the soft shell crab appetizer. We were honestly too full by the time our entrees arrived. We would return... More

Lovely diningroom and overall rich, warm feel. Most dishes hit the mark, however both our mains left us slightly underwhelmed; average. Excellent wine menu with wide price range.

Another great meal here, service good. Our credit card was compromised here. Granted my husband forgot card but called and was assured it was in their possession and would be mailed to us....
