Description: Mark Kiffin, celebrated chef, owner, and author of the Compound Restaurant, has won the James Beard Foundation award as one of America's Best Chefs. The Compound is Santa Fe's premier restaurant with Chef Kiffin's acclaimed seasonal Contemporary American cuisine derived from Santa Fe's rich heritage of regional and Mediterranean influences. The New York Times, Gourmet magazine, The Wall Street Journal and Wine Spectator have all selected the Compound as Santa Fe's favorite. Equally impressive is the attentive, highly knowledgeable and friendly staff. Chef Kiffin's menus focus on the exclusive changes in seasons such as hearty braised dishes in the fall and winter using apples, pears and cider from local harvests, osso bucco and porcini risotto while in spring and summer feature fresh local vegetables and naturally raised organic lamb and delectable strawberries.

This Canyon Rd restaurant is fabulous, at least on my first time visit for lunch. We did not have reservations but were promptly seated and greeted by a very friendly waiter. He had worked there for awhile. To start I had cold tomato soup with corn. Very refreshing and tasty. I had soft shell crabs which was a special, and... More

We visited this classic Santa Fe restaurant for lunch this week. It was everything we'd hoped for. Excellent food (burger & tuna nicoise), the homemade focaccia was amazing too. We had reserved a table on the patio, but as this had been overbooked we sat inside. The manager sent us over some beautiful homemade onion rings as an apology which... More

Three of us had lunch here recently (my first time here) and it was delightful. It is elegant without being stuffy; there is no pretentiousness, just good food in a delightful setting. The service is attentive, the food excellent, and the atmosphere relaxed and unhurried. Reservations are highly recommended, especially if you want to sit outside. My only criticism is... More

Armed with Santa Fe Opera envelope discount coupons four of us had a wonderful dinning experience. Two had two appetizers, and two had an appetizer and an entree. Soup, salad, pork belly and scampi as well as sweetbreads were delicious appetizers. The salmon was the entree! Wine was also shared.

In all the years I have been going to Santa Fe I finally went here for lunch. It was wonderful. The service was attentive, the food was excellent. I had the chicken schnitzel which I highly recommend. It is flavorful and so tender. The waiter had to find out how to make a Vesper martini from me but did so... More

This is a beautiful restaurant with absolutely tremendous service. The soup was exceptional but we thought the other dishes were slightly above average. Great wine by the glass. I would recommend this to anyone who likes fine dining and the only upscale option on Canyon Road

We had an enjoyable lunch here. We ate inside. The food and service were both excellent. Lunch seems a bit less expensive than dinner. The Compound is well worth a visit if you find yourself in Santa Fe.

Going for dinner in this Compound Restaurant with my family was a nice experience, while visiting Santa Fe. We were very happy with our dishes. My husband and I shared a sweet bread foie gras for starter, he had a lamb for main dish and I had a delicious vegetarian dish with polenta and mushrooms. My daughters had fish if... More
