Description: Mark Kiffin, celebrated chef, owner, and author of the Compound Restaurant, has won the James Beard Foundation award as one of America's Best Chefs. The Compound is Santa Fe's premier restaurant with Chef Kiffin's acclaimed seasonal Contemporary American cuisine derived from Santa Fe's rich heritage of regional and Mediterranean influences. The New York Times, Gourmet magazine, The Wall Street Journal and Wine Spectator have all selected the Compound as Santa Fe's favorite. Equally impressive is the attentive, highly knowledgeable and friendly staff. Chef Kiffin's menus focus on the exclusive changes in seasons such as hearty braised dishes in the fall and winter using apples, pears and cider from local harvests, osso bucco and porcini risotto while in spring and summer feature fresh local vegetables and naturally raised organic lamb and delectable strawberries.

I come here on Friday nights and really like it. The bar is small, holds about a dozen people and very conducive to meeting those seated near you. You'll meet interesting people mostly from out of town so good for conversation. The food and service at The Compound are exceptionally good. I've only eaten at the bar and the bar... More

Group of girls in town for a wedding. Reserved a private dining room upstairs and had the best time with margaritas, cosmos and a few appetizers to start. The tuna tar tare was some of the best I've ever had. Foie Gras, hello? Need I say more? Excellent service from Sam, great entrees, and although the bill was significant it... More

Recently I have had lunch and dinner at the Compound. Lucky me! I love having lunch there, it is so bright and cheery. The servers are excellent, they always let you take your time, they are so accommodating, it makes an enjoyable meal that much more enjoyable. I had the lobster and crab salad for lunch which was DELIGHTFUL! I... More

The Compound is tops in Santa Fe, consistently excellent over the years across all categories: food, service, ambience. Located on Canyon Road amongst the galleries, it is most easily added to a daytime itinerary. And lunch is a good value. Dinner is more a destination, less a value, but superb an experience.

Our meal at The Compound was disappointing. My pork loin was way over cooked. Because it was not good at all, no one ate the brussle sprout side dish. Our salad was OK. To be fair, my friends salmon was good and so was the service. When it came to dessert one of our orders was chocolate chip cookies. They... More

Heard about this restaurant in March and went for a late lunch. It was so good I brought my husband back for his birthday dinner. He was very impressed and told several of our foodie friends to try this restaurant out. Highly recommend but I will say it is pricey for dinner and more reasonable for lunch. Overall great !

Had lunch and then dinner the next day at The Compound. Both were vey good. Dinner was fantastic. Great food, good service (we were the last folks to leave the restaurant!). Head chef came out to deliver one of the appetizers and visited for a while. Onion rings are excellent. Will definitely be back next time in Santa Fe. Will... More
