Description: Mark Kiffin, celebrated chef, owner, and author of the Compound Restaurant, has won the James Beard Foundation award as one of America's Best Chefs. The Compound is Santa Fe's premier restaurant with Chef Kiffin's acclaimed seasonal Contemporary American cuisine derived from Santa Fe's rich heritage of regional and Mediterranean influences. The New York Times, Gourmet magazine, The Wall Street Journal and Wine Spectator have all selected the Compound as Santa Fe's favorite. Equally impressive is the attentive, highly knowledgeable and friendly staff. Chef Kiffin's menus focus on the exclusive changes in seasons such as hearty braised dishes in the fall and winter using apples, pears and cider from local harvests, osso bucco and porcini risotto while in spring and summer feature fresh local vegetables and naturally raised organic lamb and delectable strawberries.

Always a lovely meal in a beautiful setting. Extensive menu with many gluten-free options, but... please offer the option of gluten-free bread. One cannot fully appreciate the sautéed mushrooms or sweetbreads without sopping up the gravy with a lovely piece of buttered bread! Expensive, but well worth it for the food and stellar service.

We are locals who were born and raised here so have dined here many times over the years. As with most restaurants in toney towns the turnover of chefs or owners is quite frequent. For the most part the Compound delivers on food, service and ambience and has done so over the years despite this. Expect cost to run $75... More

For 40+years I have traveled for work and pleasure throughout the U.S., Europe, Canada, Mexico, Asia, and Australia.....This place was charming, warm, very good food, great service, gluten free smart. From the moment you walk in...they get it, especially if you asked for like Gluten free or any other requests, they are on it. Other places should have to train... More

Loved dining on the patio next to the fountain enjoying delicious, fresh ingredients combined in each of the dishes. Great for a romantic meal or with business associates.

Family who live in Santa Fe & frequent this 66 yr old restaurant treated 6 of us to lunch. The general manager is wonderful & very funny & expects his staff to provide excellent service. My husband ordered a pastrami sandwich with no horseradish. When it came, it was definitely not pastrami and had horseradish on it, and no explanations... More

We had dinner at this restaurant located about half way up the Canyon Road art district. Food was very good, though the service was a bit slow. There were seven of us at the table. I had a blood orange margarita to start, the heirloom tomato/corn bisque as first course, which I thought was quite tasty (though I noticed another... More

We made vacation plans to visit Santa Fe for our 40th anniversary and dinner at the Compound to celebrate the day. The meal was outstanding-- good food, imaginative recipes, excellent service and the price was probably 25% less than a comparable meal in Dallas. We've had several nice meals in Santa Fe in the last two years, and this one... More

It was our first visit. We were looking for something light after a big lunch with margaritas. The bar was full but they showed us to the patio outside the bar. Wonderful Niçoise salad & good wine. We had great service & a tour of this lovely restaurant. We will definitely return.

We enjoyed lunch at this upscale restaurant off Canyon Rd. The ambiance is peaceful and the food was delicious. I had the lobster and crab salad and my husband had a burger with roasted poblanos. Both were delicious. The service was excellent. It is pricey but it was worth every penny.

Probably the best of the best in Santa Fe. The closest thing to a dressy restaurant in Santa Fe. Wonderful menu selections; all of them good. Sit outside or in, but inside can be noisy.
