First Valentines Day Dinner

This was my husbands, and I first v-day, dinner date. The compound is very fancy, and it was nice getting dresses up. The cocktails were perfect, and so was the food. I would definitely recommend the monk fish! It is expensive, so come ready to spend money! It's a great place to splurg :)

My wife and I went to The Compound based on trip advisor recommendations. Your reviewer sure know what they are talking about. Great service and great food. I had lamb that was done perfectly and tasting my wife's meal which was scallops was also just as great. She never finishes her plate but she did with this meal.

Michael is the bartender and does a excellent job with cocktails and dinners in the bar. I prefer eating in the bar. More casual and same good menu plus a smaller bar menu. Food is consistently good but nothing blows you away. They make changes to the menu on a regular basis. Top quality ingredients. The only thing I do... More

The Compound uses seasonal ingredients that made our meal taste that it came right from the farm. Every dish we orded was cooked to perfection, nothing too heavy or over cooked.

First, a precaution...we have known the chef/owner for years. With that said, this is still a marvelous dining experience. You are eating in museum decor surroundings with service that rivals the finest, especially in a town the size of SF. The menu is excellent and keeps us coming back. Special note, believe it or not, the onion rings are the... More

As an extraordinarily well-reviewed restaurant, I had a very positive set of expectations going into Mother's Day Brunch. Usually, in these circumstances, I am pleased if my expectations are met, and if the bill is not too outsized. Today I had the happy experience of having my demanding expectations exceeded, and at a price that I considered more than fair.... More

I ate at this highly rated establishment. I guess I expected more but was disappointed. Granted I went with a tour group and we had an option of three different main courses. We started with Ceasar salad which is lettuce. Dressing was nothing to rave about. I chose the, chicken breast with fava beans on side. The side was taste ur... More

Waiter was great, overall atmosphere was very good but food was disappointing. Wine was overpriced, Duck was mediocre and Salmon was just OK. They also sat us in the back where the "unknowns" seem to be sent to or persons not wearing dinner jackets. Throughout our Dinner we kept on hearing waiters and waitresses saying...."corner"...."corner". Reason is that there were... More

Great food, a visit from the chef, outstanding wine selection and the right ambiance. Who could ask for more?
