Nice menu and service

We've had a couple of lunches recently at SantaCafe and both have been enjoyable with good food and good service. Dumplings and calamari were very good, the Very Green Salad plus a generous portion of lobster was good but too much dressing for me. Decent selection of wines by the glass.

After seeing good reviews from others, perhaps ours was an isolated experience. The food (when it finally came) was good, but we felt so crammed in that it was hard to enjoy our meal. Also our waiter seemed to have a real attitude and definitely did not make us feel like he was happy to be serving us. Another time... More

We ate here and I recommend the poblano if you really want to taste the southwest flavors packed in this chili. I must admit that I do not like very hot food and I found that this entrée had so much flavor without being overwhelmed by heat. This entrée is only served at dinner. My wife had the seabass which... We love this restaurant. When the weather is warm sitting outside is like being at a hacienda in the country. It is still very authentic and true to the history of the house. The meals are very well prepared and served with grace and attention. Drinks are well made. It can be intimate or good for a group of about... More

We enjoyed dinner at Santacafe on a recent visit to Santa Fe. I ordered the sea bass and my husband the chicken. The sea bass was exceptional - some of the best I've ever had. The presentation was beautiful and the dish the same. My husband didn't care for the chicken which he said was dry and overcooked. Nice wine... More

Santacafe is a special place in Santa Fe, with great service and very nice meals. We appeared there on Easter Sunday without reservations and were immediately seated on the patio (with our choice of sun, shade or in-between). Berry lemonade and New Mexico’s bubbly, Gruet brut (served from 11 am on), were festive drinks for the holiday morning. The calamari... More

I found my way to Santacafe based on my tour guide's response to this question, "What is your favorite restaurant in Santa Fe?" I LOVED my meal here. It was a blustery evening, so I ate in the restaurant. The restaurant was lovely, monochromatic, but not in a boring way. I ordered the green salad with olive oil and lemon... More

Canceled a reservation elsewhere after reading some negative reviews, so we made a hasty decision to eat at Santacafe. Great server gave us excellent suggestions -- the Alaskan halibut special and the Berkshire pork chop. Lovely, romantic atmosphere with minimalist unadorned white walls and white tablecloths. Oh, and the breads were outstanding!

This is an old SFE standby, but has improved in the last couple of years since I've been there. A friend and I had an excellent lunch with reasonably priced wine by the glass (always a pleasant surprise anywhere these days) and a menu that looked so appealing that it was hard to choose...Looking forward to going back this summer...
