On a recent visit to Santa Fe, we ate here twice--once for lunch and once for dinner. Both meals were first-rate. The fried calamari appetizer was quite good--primarily because of the light, Asian-influenced dipping sauce. The shrimp tempura appetizer was tasty, but the sauce was a bit cloying. My swordfish was fresh and perfectly cooked. The accompanying red chile risotto... More

We always have the calamari. Who would expect to get the best calamari in the World in Santa Fe? We have had other entres, but if they have the calamari with lime dipping sauce the day we are there, we're going to order it. They have wonderful wines as well.

Horrible service, mediocre food and beautiful garden. High prices and carelees waiters. Insolent host. Nice menu that rarely changes. It's fun to eat in the garden in warm months and this is definitely a place to be seen and show off your latest Native American jewelry. Not for the serious foodie.

This is a review of a recent lunch. As noted the ambiance is very pleasant. We sat outside and took in the view of the downtown business diners and tourists. Service was efficient and unpretentious. The onion rings were fresh and ample and the ketchup very tasty. The salmon was just ok. The green salad with green goddess dressing, peas... More

I have been coming to Santacafe for 20 years. In that period of time the restaurant has been average to excellent. Now I would rate it terrible! It took us over two hours to be served our salads and main course. When we complained about the slow service, the waiter arrogantly told us that fine dining took this long. When... More

We have eaten at the SantaCafe for many years when we come to Santa Fe for the opera, and I have previously written a very favorable TripAdvisor review of the restaurant. We visited the restaurant again this year, with a reservation for 5:30 p.m. We arrived and the server immediately and strongly suggested the calamari appetizer, which we ordered. The... More

Sad how a snobbish waiter can dampen a dinner out. My husband is a generous tipper but he cut the tip to less than his basic 20%, which is a big deal for him. It's a nice restaurant and so close to the center of town. I hope to read about improved service soon.

We felt that we had found our "forever" happy hour location after three visits over several weeks. We loved the outdoor patio area and looked forward to bringing out of state friends! While the "wines by the glass" list was brief, the food selections we had were delicious. The four of us arrived and saw ALL tables except one outside... More

Had lunch in the courtyard. My wife had a salad with lobster. Unfortunately the lobster wan't impeccably fresh. I had a green chili cheeseburger that was very good. Good wine list. Good service in a nice outdoor courtyard.

Several years ago, this restaurant was very nice and worth the price. But is has gradually slipped to it's present state of mediocrity. When we ate there recently, our food was disappointing, especially my salmon. And the service wasn't up to par, or even close. But the margaritas were good. The atmosphere could easily be brought back to life with... More
