Best Way to End a Long Week

3 of us split the paella and for the price I was expecting something mind blowing and I was pretty disappointed. I had never had Paella but this was bland and just not what I expected at all. However, the music was FANTASTIC!!! The service was also great. So even though the food was a let down, the music and... More

My husband and I went to El Meson to experience the amateur Tango nite! It was very fun and energetic. You could tell several of the dancers knew each other very well and danced accordingly. Watching 2 of the top women dancers dance together was striking! Especially watching them dance their female role and follow with dancing the male lead... More

El Meson is a gem. The important thing is that the tapas are terrific. One special, the night we were there, was the padron peppers. These are fresh from a local farmer and simply prepared by being sauteed in olive oil with a touch of salt. Perfect! My only regret is that we weren't hungry enough to have paella but... More

We ate in the bar so that we could enjoy the flamenco dancing. The food is great. The dancing was great. I had the chocolate cheesecake special and it was amazing.

We couldn't actually sit in the dining room because we didn't have reservations (who knew, on a Thursday night, that they had absolutely no openings from 7 thru 9?) but we sat in the bar and had tapas and sangria and listened to music (piano and bass). The sangria was just so-so but the tapas were great! Better than the... More

On our second visit to Santa Fe, my friend and I decided to try El Meson. We had an unpleasant tapas experience at a place called El Foral and were a bit gun shy about customer service in Santa Fe. Our fears quickly melted away. After some great live jazz and 1st class treatment at the bar, we were seated... More

Reading all reviews we expected a real great evening and meal. First of all, when we walked in, a loud and insipid parody of Flamenco makes impossible to even talk to each other. We asked to move to the other room and then discovered the so called "menu". When noticing they asked 30 minutes in order to prep a paella,... More

The four of us had the tapas and all were excellent. Tastiest, best prepared food we've had in a while. Crabcakes were better than in Annapolis, if that's possible. I terrific dining experience

We booked a table at El Mason weeks in advance because of its reputation and it didn't disappoint. The food was very good. The lam skewers tapas was particularly good. But it was the service that really deserves praise. Through now fault of the restauraunt, I had an allergic reaction to a bell pepper in one of the dishes. The... More
