We go to El Meson when JQ Whitcomb pays jazz there. It is always great, and this time was not different. The Manager was great and the service is always great. Some of our favorites are the Solomio, the mushrooms and the grilled bread with ham, the oysters and the chocolate mousse. Everything is soooo good, the gazpacho was a... More

The restaurant may have the best paella in town, but the jazz on Friday night in the lounge is second to none. The group, The Three Faces of Jazz, takes to the stage and the room fills with the sound of horns, piano and drums. Great talent that comes out of Santa Fe - with special guests that sit in... More

Charming dining in a beautiful area. Love the tapas, particularly the blue crab. Nice wine list, attentive, knowledgeable wait staff. Great choice of food. We WILL return. Free parking on street after 6pm.

This food is just delicious. Everything is perfectly prepared. We chose this with care for our special day, and we were SO glad we made the right decision.

The mushroom soup was good. The tomato salad was fabulous with goat cheese. The problem was the shrimp dish was tiny shrimp. Having eaten danish shrimp which are actually tasty, these shrimp seemed like they were bought from costco last year. The crab cakes were deep fried and shaped in a log fashion which only added to the oily factor.... More

We had a wonderful evening of music, wine and tapas. The music was Brazilian and lovely to listen too while sipping wine and sampling tapas at the bar.

Sat at the bar since I was alone and had wonderful tapas, rioja wine, and nice conversations with the waiter and neighbors.

This was our second visit for dinner at El Meson and we weren't at all disappointed. Although we planned to go for the tapas, when we reviewed the menu we couldn't resist ordering the paella. What a dilema: tapas or paella. So we first had a couple of great tapas dishes while our paella was being prepared. I've had quite... More

First of all. Staff are excited to have you dine at their restaurant. Knowledgeable of all menu items, friendly, and humorous. Our server was ranked "the best" by all 6 of us. Menu variety is superb. Tapas and Paella were excellent. Our only regret was that we were travelling and won't get more opportunities to enjoy this fabulous restaurant. We... More

Take a chance. Most of the menu is consistently excellent, especially the potatoes. Mariscos, carnes, and seasonal vegetables are all ordered separately. You pick a few and order more if you have room. The atmosphere, service, and wine list are all very good.
