Good food, best service

Final dinner after a few days in Santa Fe. This restaurant has been around for a while; and bad restaurants don't last long in a small town with so much competition. We were very pleased. This place is terrific! We had a great tapas dinner, potato, leek, and lemon soup... superb! Gazpacho would get a 5/10, filet mignon was good, scallops were ok. The dessert was the best, lemon cheese cake and chocolate churros. The staff, very friendly, professional, helpful and we would go back again.

There are lots of great restaurants in Santa Fe but if you want both good food, pleasant atmosphere and great music than spend a casual evening at El Mason. This Spanish restaurant has two dining experiences. One is the more formal dining room and the other is the casual one serving Tapas. The latter also has live music many nights... More

We really enjoyed out trip to Santa Fe and found it to be a wonderful town. Top of our list is El Meson. This is a Spanish Tapas restaurant and I really cannot say enough good things about it. It was a recommendation and the best decision we made on the whole trip was to take this recommendation. First, the... More

Great wait staff and Spanish wine list followed by great jazz in the bar! The seafood was fresh and perfectly prepared. We will be back!

Had tapas the mussels were at best fair, cheese was a joke so thin you could read thru it. Mushrooms were good but that was the only good thing. Artichokes were small had and chewy no flavor. A waste of money. Went there because others thought differently. Save your money.

We went to El Meson based on the recommendation of a store clerk in the plaza. One word, wow!! The food was wonderful. The service was great. My daughter had some questions about the menu that the waitress couldn't answer because she was new. She grabbed the hostess, who was immensely helpful in making our dining choices. Each of the... We really enjoyed our experience at this restaurant. The dining room area was nice and comfortable and the service was excellent. They have a large variety of Tapas and we liked our choices. Ensalada Con Quesos De Cabra, Patatas Dos Salsas, Croquettas De Cangrejo, Pinchos Morunos and the featured desert which was a lemon cheesecake with blueberries and strawberries. We... More

We made reservations a day ahead and this restaurant is so busy that the first available dinner reservation was 8:30 p.m. Our waiter, Nick, was attentive and helpful. Rather than having tapas, we opted to share the paella a la valenciana which is only prepared for two or more people. It was hearty and delicious. There was a wonderful band... More

El Meson was an excellent choice for a group of 6. Although pricey, the food was very tasty and the service was excellent - thanks Raji. We tried 7 of the tapas, including the scallops, chorizo-stuffed mushrooms, eggplant fries, calamari, chicken skewers, steak, and salad special. All were extremely flavorful and artistically presented. The wine list isn't huge but is... More
