Good Food in a Great Setting

La Plazuela is in the center courtyard at the La Fonda Hotel a block away from the cathedral. We stopped in for lunch and had a really nice meal. Turkey Wrap and Chicken Pot Pie both with a New Mexican spicy kick. The service was very good, attentive and friendly. Prices are moderate.

First trip to Santa Fe, we were a little bit overwhelmed, but walked to the Plaza looking for a late lunch. After ruling out two different pizza spots, we spotted La Fonda hotel, which I seemed to remember had a restaurant associated. Once we spotted the menu outside we knew this was the place. Once we entered and were seated... More

We stayed at La Fonda and ate several meals here. Our breakfasts were always a highlight! I especially loved the La Fonda Eggs Bennedict and my husband enjoyed the Breakfast Burrito with Beans. One evening we tried to get into the restaurant for dinner but there was a 90 minute wait. The Receptionist (knowing we were staying at the hotel)... More

Lively music, great service, and really delicious food. We were seated quickly, but service was a little slow. We were bummed that for a $17 entree we still had to buy chips separately. When they arrived, the waitress gave us guacamole as well which we didn't order, making the appetizer $13. I guess that's just a little much for a... More

Went there for a late dinner with colleagues after a 13 hour day of meetings. The last thing you want is exceptionally slow service with no apologies. There was no wait to be seated and it seemed like there were plenty of wait-staff, but many were standing around looking bored (even the hostess!?!). It was a long drawn out affair,... More

What a nice place. Great food with great service. I enjoyed dining there twice in the last couple of weeks and found it to be consistently outstanding.

The atrium at La Fonda is beautiful and a perfect place for breakfast before heading out to tour the city or for locals off to work. I love the huevos rancheros and the breakfast burrito and quesadilla - so much goodness and endless coffee or freshly squeezed juice.

We went here on our last night in town to celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary. The food was spectacular, great ambiance, the wine suggested by our server was very good. Would recommend this place as a do not miss!

We had both breakfast and lunch here. Great food, particular lunch. Authentic New Mexican choices that were as good as many other local restaurants. Great Tortilla soup, and loved the Torta sandwich. They are very accommodating for food allergies such as dairy and gluten.
