Perfect location right on the square, Great hotel, spectacular restaurant with outstanding food. What is not to like
After sampling several local restaurants located near La Fonda hotel, this one was still the best by far. Both the breakfast and evening meals were excellent! We ordered many different items from the menu and all were wonderful.
When I walk into the dining room at La Plazuela, I'm impressed by the Santa Fe atmosphere all around me. It's not a chain restaurant that's identical to all the others everywhere. It's real Santa Fe style that's very pleasant and appealing. And the food is wonderful. My favorites are the eggs Benedict for breakfast, or for dinner the fajitas... More
First of all, the ambience of this place is great. In the middle of a hotel, it feels like an outdoor plaza. Large fountain in the center, spacious ceiling, hand-painted glass panels all around - very relaxing and warm. The food is very Santa Fe; lots of flavorful (not mouth-blistering) chilis, food prepared well, and a wide variety to choose... More
This restaurant is located in the LaFonda Hotel in what was formally a patio. We've eaten breakfast and dinner here, and the food is excellent. Great New Mexican fare. Service is fast. We didn't have to wait, even though we didn't have reservations.
Our party of four ate Thanksgiving dinner at La Plazuela. The atmosphere was very pleasant. La Fonda, where La Plazuela is located, has recently been removated and the restaurant looks better than ever. The service was very good as was the wine. The special that evening was, of course, roast turkey, garlic mashed potatoes, butternut squash, puréed sweet potatoes, cranberry-orange... More
This is a beautiful restaurant that is located literally steps from the plaza. Service at breakfast was excellent. We slept in the morning we ate here and were happy to find they serve breakfast until 11:30. I had scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast. Husband had a very spicy breakfast burrito and our son ordered pancakes and bacon. The orange... More
We were told of a 20 minute wait which turned out to be very accurate. Our table was in the center by the water, conversation was easy even though the restaurant was bustling with activity. We enjoyed a variety of Mexican tasties and shared our meals. Service was excellent and kitchen speed seemed just right. The hotel staff outside the... More
We dined here in early November and even on a Sunday evening the restaurant was packed. It is an open, comfortable, airy dining room. Our waitress was very prompt and was knowledgeable about the menu and the specials of the day. We also appreciated their good selection of wines by the glass as I wanted a red wine and my... More
While in Santa Fe recently for business, we had an appetite after exploring the plaza. Our friends suggested La Plazuela at La Fonda, an old classic Santa Fe hotel. My friend and I shared a double portion of steak fajitas, with all the sides that we both enjoyed. Another friend had very good carne asada. My wife had some very... More
