Tecolote Cafe was started in 1980 by Bill and Alice Jennison with a desire to feed guests great meals, affordably, with superior service. Mr. Bill and Alice's recipes have been pleasing palettes for 31 years. In May of 2010, sadly, we lost Mr. Bill after a long and accomplished life. Since August 2010, Katherine Adkins (Bill and Alice's daughter) and her husband Matt Adkins have been doing their best to honor Mr. Bills vision in carrying on the family business We offer a varied menu focusing primarily on New Mexican breakfast and lunch cuisine, as well as some American favorites. We bake all of our breads in house as well as our muffins and biscuits contained in our bakery basket. A little known secret to our great burgers? Fresh baked Kaiser rolls to vehicle our superb patties and ingredients. Whether you come for breakfast or lunch, we are sure you will be pleased with our delectable choices and our warm, friendly atmosphere. If you aren't, just let us know so we can make your experience everything you hoped for!Katie and I, or Alice, can't wait to see you on your next visit. So, come on in, and remember, we serve "Great breakfast, No toast!", just for you.

Great Food!

Excellent food. They do not serve toast! Instead, a delicious pastry tray. The servers are personable and friendly.

Tecolote doesn't disappoint. Sure, a lot of places make omelets and hash browns. But at Tecolote, the potatoes are sliced and perfectly crisped. The omelet is full of toppings but not oversized. The bakery basket earns its reputation with fluffy biscuits and tender muffins that are delicious but not over the top. The chocolate eclair, although not a typical breakfast... More

I felt bereft when I cast my gaze at the empty lot where Tecolote once stood. Been going as long as it was open. I worried. We have so little left of the Santa Fe of old. Would it reopen? Would it turn too fancy in a new spot? All is well it turns out. Great, down to earth and... More

Tecolote was closed from April 2014 to July 2015. Now it's back in business at its new location (1616 St Michael's Dr) and the food is as good as ever. The first few days it was open, they were still getting the bugs out of the operation, but now everything is running smoothly. Tecolote is a place to go for... More

This is always a must eat at restaurant when we return to Santa Fe. Since our last visit, they have moved to a new location that is further from the downtown. It is well worth the effort if you want one of the best meals in town. This is a family run restaurant and the staff are very welcoming and... More

In the past, we have eaten at the old location and had good experiences. We had breakfast at the new location and were very disappointed with the food. The pancakes were inedible. They were so dry, the pancakes were actually splitting apart. The scrambled eggs were so overcooked, they were like rubber. The bacon was good! Our waitress was very... More

The service was so slow I considered walking out. It's a good thing I was hungry because I would have left.

Tecolote is in the new venue and seems to have worked out most of the "bugs" in getting back to business after a too-long absence from the Santa Fe scene. The food is as good as I remember, and that's a very sincere compliment. I stopped in mid morning and found a seat at the counter where the server appeared... More

We went for lunch, got there at 11:25. Server took the order soon enough, then we waited, waited and waited. Finally had to ask her where it was after 35 minutes (others were served quickly). Waited another 5 minutes for the food. Still had to ask for cheese on the burger. Our conclusion was she either forgot to put the... More

we came here on a Sunday morning. My boyfriend have been before and highly recommend it. They are busy, and you can expect to be put on the waitlist. they make some of their own breads there, which can be used to make the French toast of your choice. That is what my boyfriend got on this visit. He liked... More
