This restaurant is a favorite for very good reasons. Its charming, the service is especially nice and the New Mexican menu items very delicious! Make reservations on weekends and during the Holidays as La Choza is super busy. For lunch, it is less crowded and an excellent place to taste the best of NM cuisine. Be sure to ask which... More

It had been over 10 years since I had been back to this restaurant. I ordered the fish tacos and they were probably the best I've had in a long time. The host was most pleasant and The waitstaff was professional. The building is quite charming however it can get somewhat noisy and doesn't really make for private conversations.

So I'm from Massachusetts- OF COURSE the food at La Choza was the best Mexican I've ever had! As my favorite food genre, I've had it all up and down the East Coast, and this place still takes the cake. Could it have also been the stellar service? The quaint patio? The friendly buzz of happy diners all around me?... More

Went in early on a Saturday evening and the place was packed. We were quoted a 45 minute wait and headed to the bar. House sangria and Margarita with a Mezcal float were very good. A second chair opened up and we decided to eat at the bar. Ordered a combination plate - Relleno and chicken adovada All were good,... More

We were looking for a good Mexican restaurant for our last night in Santa Fe. Tried Marie's and The Shed and both were booked with reservations and this was on a Tuesday evening. We ended up at La Choza that was also rated well. Staff was friendly and attentive. The food was just okay. The food was not expensive but... More

I go to la Choza every month; for the terrific New Mexican food there. I personally like the tamale's the best; but really everything is great; assuming that you like beans and posole! This restaurant is busy and locals go a little early or a little late to avoid the crowd. There is a terrific bar for a margarita if... More

Horrible food and very expensive. They even charge 6 dollars for chips and salsa. The chips are not home made, they are bagged the salsa too hot to eat. The margueritas were almost 8 dollars and they were small. The food was horrible. The people who eat there don't know good Mexican food or else they don't go back. I... More

My husband and I have eaten at La Choza several times and this time was the best overall experience. Be forewarned reservations are a must even on a weeknight. Amazingly, they held our table for us - how often does that happen any more? There were lots of folks waiting and every other table was taken. On this night, it... More

Great dinner on our last night in Sante Fe. We wanted a place less touristy, more of a place where the locals eat. And it is that. Food and service were terrific.

This restaurant is the best, for New Mexican food in northern New Mexico.,the enchilada plate is priced reasonable and is superb. A truly simple, but great plate of food. It is the most popular meal, and that's for good reason. The chile sauce on the enchiladas is what makes the dish a winner. Just like with Italian food, it's about the... More
