Great service, fabulous food, wonderful cocktails

Staying in Santa Fe June 2015 on a 1 month road trip, this restaurant was one of our highlights. It has good Mexican food, a friendly and lively atmosphere, and Cory's advice on margaritas at the bar was very much appreciated. The cocktails were superb. My husband enjoyed the beer, too.

We looked forward to coming to Santa Fe just to eat at La Choza. This trip we were disappointed. It was more average than exceptional.

This place hit the ball out of the park! We had the veggie tamales with green chile, beans, and hominy. They had fully vegetarian options which was a welcomed and surprising change. The portions were huge we couldn't even finish one combo plate between two people. Definitely a MUST for traditional New Mexican food. In addition we had excellent service... More

I'm a vegan and sometimes have a hard time finding vegan food at restaurants. La Choza has vegetarian pozole, and veggies enchiladas. Easy to sub avocado for cheese and sour cream. Great ambience. They don't open until 5pm. It got busy right away. Lots of people arriving had reservations. Food was spicy. Could always order chile on the side to... More

I had tried getting in here twice previously, but wait was too long. This time, with a group reservation, we made it in. There were 12 of us and everyone was pleased with their food choices. House Margaritas are very good, too! Worth a visit, but just be sure to call ahead for a reservation or prepare for an average... More

Had our best meal in New Mexico here. Artfully decorated and quaint. Very good enchiladas. My whole family had a great time here. Make reservations, it gets crowded.

When I moved to Santa Fe, a friend told me I had to try La Choza, that it was the best New Mexican food in all the land. And he was right! Don't miss La Choza for awesome food and atmosphere. There is sometimes quite a wait, but they do take reservations! The drinks are amazing as well (my fav... More

Arrived late into Santa Fe and didn't have a great restaurant idea chosen or reservation made. Selected La Choza and had a great time. Staff was friendly, Gaylen was our waiter, and he guided us to make some good choices. The New Mexico Beer was tasty and the food delicious. I was told lots of locals visit this restaurant and... La Choza is a mainstay for locals and visitors alike when seeking authentic New Mexican cuisine. The food is consistently top-notch, from the crisp tortilla chips and tasty salsa to the New Mexico chile dishes for which the restaurant is known. The atmosphere is pleasant (although I'd choose to avoid the rear room), and the outdoor patio is a great... More

The food was very good, it was hard to make a choice off of the menu. But I'm from Texas and like my TexMex and wanted chips and salsa, but that is extra, you pay for it. No thank you. Not this gal. The chile relleno was very good, but the green chile sauce was spicy for me. The posole... More
