Our innkeeper suggested we try La Choza before we headed out to the Santa Fe Opera. Excellent experience. We arrived at shortly after 5 p.m. and decided we'd better go ahead and get seated. Fortunate decision. The restaurant was just beginning to fill up and by the time we left I overheard there were 45 minute waits. Seems to be... More

La Choza was recommended by our hotel staff. We were hoping to find some really good Mexican food in New Mexico and hadn't really yet after 4 days in various cities. It was busy when we arrived but we were seated sooner than promised. The chips here and it seems everywhere else in NM are mediocre - kinda thick and... More

There are dozens of great New Mexican restaurants in Santa Fe. This is my very favorite. Their green chili is one of the best around. The service is very good and the prices are reasonable. There is really nothing on the menu that you will regret ordering. Whenever I am in Santa Fe, this will be one restaurant I will... More

If you want real authentic New Mexican food, look no further. Enchiladas with pork adovada, Christmas. Always fresh, friendly service. Sit at the bar and get to know the awesome bartenders---hardest working guys in town. Killer margaritas---tasty and strong. If I could only have one meal in Santa Fe, no question it would be at La Choza.

When reading our travel guide books - La Choza was recommended as a local hangout. When we parked, the lot seemed full and was slightly off to the side of the restaurant. There were signs all around, stating "Do not leave valuables in your car" - making me wonder where I've brought my family. We dined outside for lunch and... More

We had been to Santa Fe a few years ago in search of hot, spicy Mexican food and we were unsuccessful. This time, our friends who recently moved to Santa Fe, recommended La Choza. Food was excellent... and spicy as we had requested. We ordered the two-item combination plates and selected carne adovada and crispy tacos, which were accompanied by... More

… and so glad we took her advice! Lovely pet friendly patio -- great selection of food, well prepared and tasty. We would not hesitate to return. They do get VERY BUSY and their parking lot fills up quickly. I loved their chile rellenos! Both hubby and I opted for a 2 item combination and could only finish one …... More

A fun spot for excellent Mexican food. You would expect Mexican food to be good in Santa Fe and you won't be disappointed. It's pretty noisy and raucous fueled by margaritas and beer. Not fancy. Sister restaurant to The Shed.

We dined at La Choza for lunch during the week and did not have to wait too long to be seated, which was great for the busy summer season. The restaurant inside feels cramped and the main dining room is rather loud, but is festively painted and decorated so you truly know you're dining in Santa Fe. Our waiter was... More

This is a neighborhood type place that locals frequent. The inside is warm and friendly. We had a three way conversation with the couples on either side of us, which is something we never had done before. But it was great because we got a lot of advice on what we should see in the area. The food is very... More
