Fun, standard food

This restaurant has a fun decor and very casual feel. The tables are formica with squeeze bottles of honey for the sopapillas on top. We went here for authentic new Mexican food. Good NM food is judged by their red chili and tamales. La Choza does both very well. Their margaritas are very good as well. Worth the $! I wish the chips were a little fresher but overall great place to eat in Santa Fe for traditional NM food. Not to be confused with Mexican food-

We wanted a place for great new Mexican cuisine and La Choza fit the bill. All three of us had a combination plate, with a chili relleno, adovado pork and/or a tamale. The adovado was muy bueno-such good flavors. The sopapillos were light & airy. I loved the green chili saucewhile one of my friends like the red chili sauce.

La Choza is a sister restaurant to The Shed on the Santa Fe plaza. If you want to pay a lot, go to The Shed. If you don't, go to La Choza. The menu isn't as fancy as The Shed's, but the food is fantastic. I have lived in New Mexico for over 40 years and tried every New Mexican... More

I have eaten at La Choza numerous times and have never been disappointed. The extensive menu will not disappoint with very good quality and variety. The atmosphere is very pleasant and there is ample room inside and outside on the patio so you rarely have to wait long for a table. Service is always friendly. One gripe is that you... More

Excellent NM food, trendy hot spot but spendy drinks. Try the posole and the soppapillas with your plate. The red sauce is very hot, the green not so much so. Both were great.

As expected the green chili is awesome! Ambience is a little touristy, but they have a take-away window so you can call in an order and take it home. They just started taking reservations so you don't have to endure the long lines. The food is quite spectacular. Margaritas are a little tart if you like them sweeter.

I go to my cabin outside of Las Vegas, NM every year. Almost every year we drive to Santa Fe for La Choza. These are hands down the best sopaipillas and New Mexican food I've ever had. I love their enchiladas and basically everything I get here. I had a margarita last time and was not disappointed! It's not really... More
