Started very poorly with a hostess who didn't greet us and barely acknowledged our existence. Really rude. I went back to speak with her after we were seated. I suggested that her behavior was not acceptable for the position she had. Her response was it was her last night. Good thought I. Food was so so. Steak was tough and... More

Parked across from it at the state lot and steak in the name was enough said. But should have kept walking. I know good cuts of beef. Didn't see them with our steaks for sure. My tough steak and the terrible service made me feel like worst rip off I've ever had at S F for such high prices.

We were seated in the main dining area of this beautiful restaurant but, unfortunately, there was a lady with a very loud voice which proved disturbing to us. (It was my wife's 65th birthday and more subdue atmosphere was what we were after. This was no fault of the lady; she just had a loud voice. We asked to be... More

We met a friend and sat in the bar area for dinner and drinks. The friend enjoyed his rib sandwich, but we found the salads did not have sufficient dressing on them. The Caesar salad seemed to have almost no dressing and one anchovy on it. The Chama chopped salad needed more dressing to make it tastier. A bowl of... More

We have eaten in the bar several times. The experience is good but not grand. I don't suppose I expect it to be...but to be sure, it isn't. However, you can get good drinks, nachos and other appetizers, burgers, and salads in an upscale bar setting--which can't be all bad--and watch one of their many TVs dialed to whatever important... We live in Santa Fe, but had never been before. I had Alaskan salmon and it was fantastic! We will make this a regular!

We often have an assortment of appetizers for dinner instead of an entree, and this evening was no exception. Three appetizers were ordered, and only the fondue was a disappointment - what was advertised as a four-cheese fondue was primarily Velveeta-based, with perhaps a sprinkling of other cheeses to complete the other three. It reminded me more of the canned... More

We went to Rio Chama for a birthday dinner and were very pleased with our experience. The food was great, the drinks were very good and the service was excellent as well. The prices were similar to what one would expect at most upper end steakhouses. I was impressed that they comp'ed my dessert in honor of my birthday. About... More

My wife and I are Santa Fe locals and have spent many an hour and eaten many a meal at Rio Chama and have always had a wonderful, satisfying experience. But what happened last night needs to be spoken of in hope that this fine restaurant will learn something from this and possibly never have it happen again. We did... More

Totally awesome. Best bar/steakhouse I have been to in the western states. Big TV screens inside for sporting events, otherwise the outside patio and dining areas are beautiful in the summer. Great food and service.
