This place would be okay if it weren't for the outrageous prices for food that uses mediocre ingredients and tastes mass-produced. Burgers and bar food are tasty and reasonable, but entrees are ridiculous. Compared to other fine dining places in town that charge less and obviously put more care into their food, this place is a joke.

Santa Fe hides some of their best behind solid adobe walls. You have to search where the secret places are. My sister and I discovered this place in December, even tho it's been there for years. We had some of the best prime rib! I'm from Minnesota and am used to corn fed beef and this was great! If you... More

We ate there last night. My wife had the filet and I had the elk tenderloin. Both were cooked just as ordered and very tasty. I thought their wine list was a little lacking. Service was excellent!

I like this place a lot. Whether it's just for snacks at the bar, which is big and roomy, or for a sit down dinner the food is always prepared exceptionally well. I also think it's a great value considering the portion size and quality.

Rio Chama is one of my favorite places to go out in Santa Fe. It has a nice bar with several big, comfy booths, as well as some nice seating areas near a fireplace. It does have a few large TVs playing sports, so that creates a more casual dining experience in the bar. I like the extensive wine selection... More

Surroundings elegant; food excellent; service great. Price at $15 for lunch was a bit high, but since I could take home half the ample plate for a later meal, it was well worth the price. I will be back there soon.

I'm just going to say the chili at Rio Chama is delicious My husband said it was the best chili he ever had in his life. I heard that several times even on the plane home to Austin! I don't mean to mislead because the menu is upscale and there are lots of great choices but when in Santa Fe... More

Spent our last night in Santa Fe by treating the family to Rio Chama. Started with the Fondue .... Wow!! Whole family (even out picky eating 4th grader) loved it. The main courses were all well received and not a scrap left. Wife had the Trout special while my teenage son and I had the Prime Rib and they were... More

There are many wonderful restaurants in Santa Fe, and we have had some excellent steak dinners here, but Rio Chama is the best. Our dinners were fantastic; food could not be beat. Everyone at our table had a great meal. The service was very friendly, and the server was extremely knowledgeable. We never felt rushed, having cocktails before ordering. The... More

While visiting Santa Fe over Christmas we had already hit the best standard spots and the food in this city is exceptional for the most part. We wanted to try a restaurant new to us and we were lucky enough to get reservations at Rio Chama last night. Touted as a steak house it is far more than that. Fresh... More
