In the Canyon Rd. Art district. Not a perfect street cafe (right over street but traffic was light and slow) but pretty nice. The sea bass was wonderfully prepared and the scallops were good as well. The later you go, the better the experience should be.

We really liked the outdoor patio seating and the architecture of the building was fascinating, one of the oldest buildings in Santa Fe. The sangria was good. The food was OK but all the sauces seemed the same. Too much sweet sauce. Expensive, we thought. 5 tapas for $50.

Do not go here for the food. It is very pedestrian but the show was nice. They did not seat us where promised and only apologized. No other consideration or management adjustment was offered for the poor table provided in spite of our early reservation requesting something better which was in fact confirmed. The food was quite average but the... More

El Farol, high up Canyon Rd where many of Santa Fe's best art galleries are located, provides excellent Southwestern fare daytime and evenings. The service is gracious and efficient, and there are a variety of settings within a labyrinth of large and small rooms decorated with the works of local artists, a raised front porch overlooking the street, a bar... After strolling up Canyon Rd, we enjoyed a respite on El Farol's porch, with a wonderful tapas selection. It was our reward for reaching the near-top of Canyon Road

There are now a small handful of Santa Fe restaurants that offer tapas as a way to enjoy your meal with friends. I am pleased to tell you that out of the four places I have tried I believe El Farol does it best in that there is a wonderful variety and everything is wonderfully delicious. My party of four... We found this restaurant because we were driving on Canyons Road .. it was 2pm and we decided to stop for a salad. It was a very hot day and we asked to lunch on the terrace. Waitress was friendly. I had a Caesar Salad but I got it warm and since they put anchovies on the top, the lettuce... More

Met some friends there for lunch. We make it a point to have lunch there when we are in town every year for Indian Market. Place is awesome. Daniel the bartender makes great jalapeno margaritas they are great, just the right amount of burn. the food is great always go for the tapas menu you can't go wrong.

We had great lunchtime food at El Farol but after returning home my credit card indicated that the waitress changed the tip amount from $6.00 to $10.00. Everything else was good, a sour taste to a great day. Imagine how much the waitress would make if she did it to all customers, how many check their credit card statements.
