We've Always Had a Good Experience

On numerous visits during summers and fall months as tourists we have always had good food and service at El Farol. We recently moved to Santa Fe and went back to El Farol this week and again had a lovely meal. We ordered tapas, wine and prosecco and dessert and the meal was good from start to... read more

Mediocre lunch of stacked chicken enchiladas, cold, and seemed like out of a can. You can do better in Santa Fe. Nice old building, but nothing to write home about.

Located towards the end of Canyon Road. A nice selection of tapas items. Excellent food. Has authentic Spanish charm.

We were told to eat at El Farol by many folks in town. While the trio was excellent and the dancers entertaining the food was just so-so. My companion's paella, promised to be chocked full of scallops, shrimp, muscles, chicken, chorizo et.al. but was cold, bland and loaded with more rice as a filler than the fish. Even when reheated... This restaurant is worth visiting because of the Saturday night Flamenco show. The food is not exceptional, but it is nice to experience flamenco in such an intimate space. Also nice to come out to live music in the bar area.

What a mess! Poor crowd control, lousy table (kept getting hit by people walking by, freezing air from the continually open front door, NOISY), rushed service, portion size of "tapas/pinchon" plate looked like it was for Barbie and Ken, rib eye plate ( tough! Was supposed to be medium rare but was overdone and drenched in sauce atop a pile... More

This is a wonderful, laid back, delicious venue. I highly recommend going here when you hit Canyon road. Two of the eight people I was with said it is there favorite place to eat in Santa Fe. The food here was great and the staff was very accommodating with our orders for the children, they basically said they would prepare... More

Really nice dining on Canyon Road. The food is excellent and so is the service! We have eaten there several times over visits in the last couple of years and it never disappoints.

When visiting Santa Fe we always make a trip up Canyon Road to have drinks at this classic old bar. This year we spent time during Christmas Eve having several drinks at the bar. Excellent friendly bartenders.

We went here based on a recommendation from a business associate who had been to Santa Fe many times. He gave us a list of eight restaurants in no particular order. We chose El Farol first because of our experience with tapas during our extended visiting of Spain. What a disappointment horrible preparation, flavor and texture. The server was the... More
