the wait is worth it!

There is almost always a line here for a table. They don't take reservations, but that red chile is amazing! The Pork Adovado (sp?) was incredible, especially if you have it on the blue corn enchildadas. The complimentary sopapillas are yummy too and useful for cooling the heat on your tongue... read more

Been here before but had been a few years....still as delicious as I remembered. A staple for tourists in Santa Fe, but good reason why. Love the atmosphere, only waited about 30 minutes and had a drink and did people watching while waiting. Parking was a mess, but didn't get towed in spite of parking across the street. Love love... Humm... What can I say but big fat sadness. It has been a few years, but the first clue should have been we got in right away. Let's start with the food on the walls. Gross! And now moving on to the food.... I had the spareribs, sweet and full of bones. I'm fully aware bones are part of the... More

We were in the mood for Mexican food, we were told on Sunday this was about the only place open. To say we were not impressed would be an understatement. The food was overpriced and way to spicy, we even asked for the milder sauces. My fried chicken was so crisp it was almost a piece of charcoal, my wife's... More

This is a must go to place when visiting Santa Fe! Excellent Margaritas (and about 100 to choose from) and food. I recommend the blue corn enchiladas (try it with an egg on top) and the carne adovado. Reservations are a good idea if you don't want to wait in line. They are busy any day of the week!

While I can't speak to any change in food quality at this restaurant, I can say that the service was excellent, the food was good, and the drinks were fantastic. I think the ambiance of the 'old' part of the restaurant helps as did the company - the family had had a great day touring the town. The food was... More

Giving two stars for the excellent service we received from our server. It's down hill from there. Despite making a reservation, we had to wait 20 minutes for our table. Once the food arrived, we discovered that thepico de gallo was completely dry and it as well as the guacamole were spicy hot. We hadn't asked about it being spicy,... More

A great place with a great New Mexico menu and great service. First a thanks you to our waiter John, who has been there for 20 - 30 years and is always a joy. It's on our annual list of stops and never disappoints. I tried the Chile Philly and it was delicious. A great NM spin on the traditional... More

We always make a trip to Maria's when in Santa Fe. Sit in the bar, drink awesome Margaritas and sip top of the line Tequila. That being said, we do eat and our old standbys are still good and service is always above average. Tradition, above average food and true New Mexican ambiance makes this a fun place to return... I had not been in SantaFe for four years and was looking forward to visiting Maria's which was always one of my top 5 to take visitors. What was once a fantastic place to eat has become average. Nothing is quite the same. Not the menu, not the green chile and not the sopapillas. The food wasn't bad, it just... More
