A taste of New Mexico

This 3 star review is purely based on the meal choices we had during our recent visit. We will come again and try something different as the place and atmosphere is very nice! The burrito is not as we expected, only filled with minced meat instead of stuffed with meat, rice, beans and sauce. The... read more

Having traveled all days from both Maryland and Tennessee, our party of four was about to experience our first New Mexican meal of our Super Bowl party. Our friends have eaten here before and highly recommended that we give it a try......From our initial arrival where we were met by hostess Nickie, a very enthusiastic and professional employee we were... Visited here during a family vacation. Great place to come with kids. Open on Sunday. Pros: Loved the salsa, margaritas and aldovada. Meals come with sopapillas & honey. The service was good & we were seated quickly. Yummy green and red sauce. Cons: Only the first chips & salsa is free, 2.75 after that. Beans were good but a little... More

These folks are serious about their Margaritas and it shows. I had a delicious house one and it was done well. The chicken dish my husband had and my fajitas were okay, but nothing I would order again. Our server was attentive and helpful. Good locals place.

Good NEW Mexican food. This is not Mexico and this local haunt does not serve Mexican style food and here in Santa Fe and northern New Mexico there is a difference between Mexican and NEW Mexican food and also our atmosphere. There are good Mexican Restaurants here in Santa Fe with Mexican Atmosphere but Maria's is NEW Mexican and thus... More

As the title states, Maria's is the quintessential New Mexican quisine. Does that mean delicious? Well, the first time I dined at Maria's was in 1993. I visit Santa Fe once or twice a year and in all those visits I've made a point of dining at Maria's all but once or twice. Oh yeah, they wrote the book on... More

Maria's is a northern NM restaurant that caters to both locals and tourists. It's draw is the extensive menu of margaritas; however, the food is solid and the service is normally attentive. It's hard to differentiate between the menus of most northern New Mexican restaurants since there is usually the standard offerings of tacos, enchiladas, burritos and the combinations that... More

My family and friends live eating at Maria's! The New Mexican fare is delicious including the red and green chili. The old adobe building separated into smaller rooms (many with fireplaces) is cozy. The wait staff and bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly. Enjoy!

Maria's was always the "go to" place in Santa Fe for Northern New Mexican cuisine. I always took my out of town guests there. But lately new owners have taken it over and sadly it's not the same as it was. Even one of our local newspaper reviewers said that they can no longer recommend it. It's always been hard... More

Some thirty years ago, my husband and I used to go skiing in Santa Fe 3 to 4 times a season and we always had at least one meal at the local place called Maria's (with the bright yellow sign). Years passed, we had 4 kids, and we lost track of Maria's. Until this year, when I ran across it... More
