A Very Good Restaurant

We are from Tucson, so the bar was set pretty high for Mexican food. Maria's held it's own to some of our favorite Tucson restaurants. The blue corn enchiladas were fantastic. Mine were stuffed with a marinated pork that was fantastic. My wife tried the sampler plate and was equally impressed. Her... read more

I had heard that Maria’s was a classic spot to eat in Santa Fe. Indeed, it opened around 1950, so they have had enough time to get it right. Wrong….. I was surprised to find mediocre Mexican food in this city where even the fast food joints often serve good chili. The flavor was OK, but not great. My husband... More

People seem to like this little place and we were looking so forward to coming here. The margarita's tasted like utter poison-- the chips were cold and stale and unsalted... the food was almost inedible. Maybe it was just an 'off' night, I dunno. The waitress was nice enough, though.

You will not find better New Mexican food, or margaritas, in Santa Fe. We visit Santa Fe four to five times a year, and always have dinner at least once on every trip. The blue corn enchiladas are the best I've ever had anywhere. Get the Maria's Margarita with it. Perfection. It's very reasonably priced and the ambiance is funky... More

Oh what a delight this restaurant is with great personnel, food, and a more historic Santa Fe atmosphere. We had a large party and the service was great. We were fortunate to get a table without a reservation without waiting in a long line since we arrived for early dinner. Everything we ordered was delicious and made from scratch the... More

I went to Santa Fe on a quest for the best Carne Adavado and found it at Maria's ! I am always looking for this dish where ever my travels take me . And my travels are always South Western US . The sauce was pure Northern New Mexico and matched with slow cooked pork it exceeded my expectations .... More

We were traveling since very early in the morning from FL, and were starving by the time we reached Santa Fe. We wanted authentic New Mexican cuisine, and found out about Maria's online. The reviews were right on. My husband had the green chile stew. He still is talking about it. The guacamole is the best we've had. Don't overlook... More

Everyone said, "go to Maria's." I think it lives on reputation as the place to go. Had reservation and was seated within 5 or 6 minutes. Claims to be the place for margaritas but had better ones on the Plaza. The food portions were huge, see pic, and the food was good but not exceptional. We go for flavor, not... More

We were suppose to have a 30 minute wait but it was more like 15, so I was happy. The 1st basket of chips are free and each basket after that is $2.75.(not use to paying for chips). Our waitress was fantastic. Didn't have to write anything down. Our meals were good not great. My husbands hard taco shells tasted... More

We stopped in on a Sunday for lunch and the place was packed. We enjoyed good old-fashioned Mexican food that included wonderfully spiced meatballs in a green chile sauce tor an appetizer. The chile relleno and carne avadoba were both prepared well. They have over 150 types of margaritas to chose from. Sevice was a bit rushed but the food... More
