Description: Osteria d'Assisi was opened in 1995, in a renovated home in the historic downtown district of Santa Fe. The restaurant is named after the city of Santa Fe's patron saint, Saint Francis, who was born in the town of Assisi in Italy. Italian h'osteria's are known for their authentic cuisine served in a homelike, warm & friendly atmosphere. The Osteria d'Assisi features regional Italian cuisine, utilizing the time honored Mediterranean approach to preparing food with olive oil and fresh ingredients. Our menu includes fresh seafood, locally grazed beef, veal and lamb, house made pasta, fresh bread baked daily, gourmet pizza and creative desserts.

My wife had the special and I had the Veal Scallopini. We started with the beet salad which was D double lish! The place was quiet and great for convo. Wine selection not extensive but VERY good. We had a great bottle of Silver Oak cab.

We looked forward to our dinner at Osteria as we had heard how amazing the food was...and we were not disappointed. We told the owner we were not fussy and we would be happy with whatever he recommend. The food was delicious! We look forward to our next visit!

My friends and I recently went to Osteria D'Assisi as part of a girls' weekend. We chose to sit outside on their patio, which was a lovely spot with a view of the old courthouse across the street. Two of us ordered the special seafood dish which was scallops, shrimp, and mussels in a slightly spicy cream sauce over pasta.... More

We went late after a concert at the Opera and the food was perfectly cooked and the service wonderful. Osteria has been there a while and is tried and true and in a lovely old building. We'll return!

We went here on a Saturday night with friends. The ONLY bright spot was the waitress - Brittnany. We arrived about 10 minutes in advance of our reservation. There were several people crammed into what was supposed to pass as the reception area. After 30 minutes, the hostess finally adknowledged our existance, and a few minutes later we were seated.... For some 12 years we have been going to Osteria. Unfortunately, our visit last week was not pleasant. For example, the wine they presented to us was Not what we selected. Furthermore, the waiter did not tell us; in fact, I noticed the difference in looking at the bottle. The Calamari which previously was a highlight was way over breaded... More

We met some friends here for dinner. I had made the reservation in person, earlier in the day. I met Christian, the executive chef, a native of northern Italy. I knew the food would be authentic, and it was an absolute joy. We were presented with a basket of warm, crusty bread and a bottle of olive oil. Excellent! Some... More

The pasta special said it had olives and chantarelles. Turned out olives were black, from a can, and "chantarelles" were button mushroom from a can too. Obviously the chef is underestimating his clientele. Too bad because service was great, wine good, nice and convenient setting.

I really enjoyed the chatter in Italian between our Host and my Professor Buddy from Rome. The Host had hand picked Porcini Mushrooms in the woods that morning and he prepared us special pasta and veal dishes using them. I guess it is needless to say that he had the perfect wines to go with them!

Met just about all expectations when searching out real Italian cuisine and offerings. Surely will return. A bit on the expensive side and the menu entrees are a bit limited -- but their house-made limoncello was great, the desserts, fantastic, and the appetizers were wonderful. It is also super to have parking when that can be a challenge during the... More
