Shohko is pretty place, in a lovely old adobe building. The sushi is world class, artfully presented and delicious. Server was delightful, fun and knowledgeable. Hey, I even had desert, a rarity in a sushi restaurant--Panko-breaded bananas with honey. Worth the trip just for that. Will cost you more than most sushi restaurants, but in this case, you get what... More

Paid a return visit to Shohko because I heard they had introduced an "authentic" Ramen menu. And, as I would expect from what I have previously described as the best sushi restaurant in Santa Fe, it was exactly as advertised. Unlike the other noodle restaurants in this city that simply doesn't seem to know what good Asian food is, Shohko's... More

I would not go back to this restaurant! I was so sick with food poisoning (2 days) after eating here that we had to delay our departure from Santa Fe. Usually this is because of poor food handling, poor food quality or unhealthy conditions in the kitchen. I talked with the manager about another issue and he was not friendly... More

Shohko Café is the best sushi I have tried in New Mexico. But a restaurant it's not olnly about the quality of food, it's also about the service and this restaurant has two of two. Be careful not to use perfume before visiting Shohko, or you end up in a table away from everyone.

This is not far off the Plaza in Santa Fe and down the street from the Georgia O'Keefe museum. There is convenient parking behind the restaurant. We were told when we called to make the reservation that the restaurant is fragrance free. No problem - however when you walk in the restaurant there is a strong bleach smell. However, this... More

This is a 4.5 restaurant. When I called and made a reservation for a single person I was given a warm welcome and was offered a table or spot at the sushi bar even though they were busy. This is a family owned restaurant in SF for almost 40 years. The matriarch of the family is a sushi chef, the... More

We dined here on a stormy Monday evening in early November. The restaurant wasn't that busy but I attribute that to the day of the week and the weather. First off, one thing I greatly appreciated about this restaurant is that they have a sign when you walk in that it is a perfume free environment. I wish other restaurants... More

Want to pay $5 for a little bowl of soy beans, $37 for an entree, $10 for a glass of sake? If you are ok dropping over $52 not including tip then this is the place to go! Sushi is fresh and delicious, staff are knowledgeable. This is a real "keep it quiet" kind of spot... don't take a rowdy... More

Very good spicy tuna. GREAT green tea. Ambiance?....very southwest...not what I typically like in my sushi restaurants....but it's Santa Fe for god sakes. Pleasant experience and price is about par for good sushi.

I have no idea why people had a poor experience at Shohko. I've been several times and always have excellent service and amazing/fresh sushi. My waiters and waitresses have always known the menu, but I didn't need it. The Enoki mushrooms…yum. Something you can't get ANYWHERE? Not sushi, but shrimp stuffed green chili tempura. To die for!! Sashimi, etc. I... More
