Shoko is, in my opinion, the best sushi in Santa Fe. The appetizers were wonderful, the soba with garlic was awesome. The sushi was delicious. I had striped bass and bluefin toro and they were both exquisite. Extensive sake selection, a few wines (no champagne) and a few beers. When you want good... read more

It's our go-to place for sushi in New Mexico! Always excellent service and food. I really enjoy sitting at the sushi bar, but all the sitting spaces are nice.

The staf are helpful and efficient. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is great. Sushi and tempura recommended along with miso soup. I had green tea icecream straight, although the they do it tempura style deep fried!!

When we came in the restaurant, everyone was smiling and friendly. We sat at the sushi bar and placed our order. Every piece of the menu was so fresh and tasty. The crab maki were made of fresh crab. The presentation of every dish was perfect and gracious. As this was the end of the day, we could talk a... More

We like Japanese food and tried this place. It was excellent. We had a couple of rolls. I had shrimp in snow (fried shrimp in ground rice). We also had seaweed salad and miso soup with clams. Everything was excellent. Quiet respite from busy Santa Fe. There is parking in the back! We didn't try the sake but they have... More

The best way to enjoy is to use the Japanese word for Chef's choice. And the people who make the food in front of you at the sushi bar are quite knowledgeable.

Shoko Cafe is pricey, but the sushi is outstanding. I would say this is the most creative sushi chef I have ever had the pleasure of dining. Truly fresh sushi which is the trademark of excellent sushi. It was a pleasure to visit again.

My wife and I had lunch at Shohko Cafe the other day. We had been there many time over 20 years ago and it is still a good choice for sushi and other Japanese fare. It has a pleasant interior and we were seated quickly at the height of the lunch hour. My wife had an excellent yellow tail salad... More

My wife is vegan and I am vegetarian. We come here for dinner at least once a month. If you think vegetarian and sushi a oxymoron your a little right. Try one of the veggie rolls, the tempura one is pretty great. Excellent sake flights. A first class establishment.

I have traveled to Japan many times and find Shohko Cafe to be comparable to fine restaurants in Japan. The sushi is the freshest and the ramen noodles are truly authentic. The owner chef went to Japan just to study the making of this dish with all of it nuances. The broth is outstanding and the noodles are all made... More
