The Famous Green Chile Cheeseburgers are back! John and Bonnie Eckre, formerly of Bobcat Bite, are taking their food to the next level at the new Santa Fe Bite located inside Garrett's Desert Inn on Old Santa Fe Trail. In addition to their savory Green Chile Cheeseburgers, Santa Fe Bite features fresh tacos, fish and chips, sandwiches, a choice of French or sweet potato fries and a little something they like to call 'The Big Bite' that comes with a side of buttery garlic bread. Creamy milkshakes and homemade lemonade are just some of the sweet treats popping up on their new menu. Also, we are now serving beer and wine. Santa Fe Bite opens at 8am during the week which means early birds can sample tasty Breakfast menu offerings like hot cornmeal pancakes with maple syrup, brioche French toast with maple caramel sauce and house-made biscuits with Mom's gravy. Spend a leisurely Sunday outside at Santa Fe Bite. The new Brunch menu includes eggs benedict, frittatas and huevos rancheros.

If you go you must order a green chile cheeseburger, it's their longstanding specialty (owners used to be at different location and the restaurant was called Bobcat Bite, and the tradition continues). These are enormous and a bit pricey so feel free to share or you'll be stuffed! Plus that way you'll leave room for a yummy milkshake. Other dishes... More

Ok I have had burgers that are great but when a place can stand on its own regarding burger perfection its a whole other class. I had the Bacon Green Chile Cheeseburger with house made chips. This is not for the knife and fork crew. Get ready to get burger delishousness all over you and when your done with this... More

We had lunch here with our friends and their family members. We arrived late since we had an issue with parking so everyone else had already ordered their food. I had a patty melt and my husband had the cheeseburger since we don't like spicy chilies. Both were delicious but HUGE. All the other folks knew to order one burger... More

You won't fine a better green chili cheese burger anywhere in New Mexico. Santa Fe Bite used to be called Bobcat Bite for many years and was located on the old Las Vegas Highway until some dispute over the name occurred. It was a quirky, cozy place with just a few tables inside and a few more out on the... More

I have been drooling for the green chile cheeseburger ever since I saw it on "DDD" and it did not disappoint. Wow. It is 10 oz of sirloin and chuck and I actually had to split it with my wife, and I can eat mind you. The malt was a nice finish to this decadent meal. Met the owner -... More

Our first visit for lunch at this new location. Even though the restaurant was virtually full when we first arrived, our waitress arrived immediately to take our drink orders. We decided on the Friday only Fish n' Chips and their standard cheeseburger w/homemade chips cooked medium rare. Yes folks, some restaurants actually do let you order a burger the way... More

The best green chili cheese burger I have ever had. A 10 oz burger cooked to your desire, loaded with good green chili and a swiss/white American cheese melted perfectly over the burger. Homemade potato chips to die for. Nothing fancy as far as the restaurant goes, but clean and a great staff. Very attentive without over doing it. You... More

I live five miles from the old Bobcat Bite and would order a burger every other week. And they were the best. Today I went to Santa Fe Bite for the first time since Bobcat Bite closed. The atmosphere was nice and the service attentive. I ordered a cheeseburger cooked medium and a beer. The beer was served right away and... More
