Description: The Famous Green Chile Cheeseburgers are back! John and Bonnie Eckre, formerly of Bobcat Bite, are taking their food to the next level at the new Santa Fe Bite located inside Garrett's Desert Inn on Old Santa Fe Trail. In addition to their savory Green Chile Cheeseburgers, Santa Fe Bite features fresh tacos, fish and chips, sandwiches, a choice of French or sweet potato fries and a little something they like to call 'The Big Bite' that comes with a side of buttery garlic bread. Creamy milkshakes and homemade lemonade are just some of the sweet treats popping up on their new menu. Also, we are now serving beer and wine. Santa Fe Bite opens at 8am during the week which means early birds can sample tasty Breakfast menu offerings like hot cornmeal pancakes with maple syrup, brioche French toast with maple caramel sauce and house-made biscuits with Mom's gravy. Spend a leisurely Sunday outside at Santa Fe Bite. The new Brunch menu includes eggs benedict, frittatas and huevos rancheros.

EVERY New Mexico cafe and restaurant that serves green chile cheeseburgers wants to be able to claim it serves THE best GCC in the state. And we who like them, happily test the claims of the eateries on the "Green Chile Cheeseburger Trail." According to many, The Santa Fe Bite has them. So I had to see for myself if... More

Juicy fresh burgers, handmade ice cream shakes & malts, delicious side dishes (slaw, cornbread, to name a couple), all served up super-fresh with attentive and friendly service in an inviting, clean atmosphere. Don't let the roadside hotel-vibe exterior dissuade you. We are so happy that SF Bite moved from it's "Bobcat Bite" home closer to town with menu expansion &... More

My wife and I had previously eaten at the Bobcat Bite, loved it and were very disappointed when it closed recently. We were pleased to learn that the owner had re-established at the new Santa Fe Bite, so we were looking forward to trying the new place when we visited Santa Fe earlier in July, 2014. As this review's title... More

1) Great ingredients = great food 2) Burgers are awesome (hot, real deal NM green chili) --but don't miss desserts. 3) Really good beer selection tops it all off. 4) Friendly service Love the fact that they make everything inhouse and personally know their local food suppliers.

We always used to go to Bobcat Bite outside of Santa Fe when we were in the area. Part of the charm was getting there early to wait on the porch to get one of the few funky table or counter seats and order the delicious, reasonably priced burgers. The restaurant has moved into the center of the Plaza and... More

I had two lunches here. Both experiences had wonderful service, and great food. I had the green chile burger, and it lived up to my memories of Bobcat Bite. I thought the atmosphere was very charming and inviting. The staff all seemed like they thoroughly enjoyed their work, which added to the pleasant atmosphere.

Not a connoisseur of hamburgers but after reading about several awards won by the old Bobcat Bites restaurant we felt obligated to give it a try. Had not eaten at the prior restaurant so cannot attest to the love shown by many. It is a ten ounce burger that my wife and I split along with some sweet potato fries.... More

Friendly staff, prompt service, and very good food. Hard to complain. I had the green chili cheeseburger. Perhaps the best hamburger of my life.

Though I miss the quirky ambiance of the Bobcat Bite, far removed from the hubbub of downtown Santa Fe on the Old Las Vegas Highway, I must admit that its reincarnation as The Santa Fe Bite offers green chile cheeseburgers every bit as delectable as those of old, if served in more polished, upscale surroundings. Another reviewer felt the quality... More

We stopped and had lunch here after a long day of walking. The staff was very friendly. Everyone was smiling and looked like they enjoyed their job. I had just a plain cheeseburger and it was good. Not the best I've had but well worth the $10.00. The homemade chips were good but lacking seasoning. I would definitely eat here... More
