Description: The Famous Green Chile Cheeseburgers are back! John and Bonnie Eckre, formerly of Bobcat Bite, are taking their food to the next level at the new Santa Fe Bite located inside Garrett's Desert Inn on Old Santa Fe Trail. In addition to their savory Green Chile Cheeseburgers, Santa Fe Bite features fresh tacos, fish and chips, sandwiches, a choice of French or sweet potato fries and a little something they like to call 'The Big Bite' that comes with a side of buttery garlic bread. Creamy milkshakes and homemade lemonade are just some of the sweet treats popping up on their new menu. Also, we are now serving beer and wine. Santa Fe Bite opens at 8am during the week which means early birds can sample tasty Breakfast menu offerings like hot cornmeal pancakes with maple syrup, brioche French toast with maple caramel sauce and house-made biscuits with Mom's gravy. Spend a leisurely Sunday outside at Santa Fe Bite. The new Brunch menu includes eggs benedict, frittatas and huevos rancheros.

Not only are their burgers grilled to perfection, but their steak is equally sumptuous!!! This is not just a burger place. The Ribeye is delicious, full of flavor, tender, juicy and cooked perfectly. Kudos to Santa Fe Bite for a fabulous menu of awesome food, along with some great wine--all at reasonable prices. Don't miss this place.

We had to try the well known chile cheeseburger. I ordered medium and it came out medium rare. The burger comes undressed with a slice of tomato and lettuce on the side. The meat flavor was good. The "home fries"with chile cheese were really cubed potatoes. The cheese topping was good though. We enjoyed the vinegar base cole slaw. They... More

Best green chile cheeseburgers in New Mexico. The green chile cheeseburgers are cooked to order (rare means rare, etc.). The green chile provides flavor with that distinctive (but not overkill) spicy bite. The proportion of cheese, green chile and burger are just right on top of a homemade, soft brioche bun. The home fries and sweet potato fries are great... More

$5 for a tiny amount of shake, $16 for a burger that was "eh". Not worth it. It was much better when it was Bobcat Bite. All the charm and flavor (as well as the value) has disappeared in the new location.

I am a Santa Fe local and for years John and Bonnie's food had been a go to for me. Since they opened Santa Fe Bite everything has gotten even better. Santa Fe Bite's Green Chile Cheesburger defines the green chile cheeseburger. Locally sourced grass fed beef is hand formed into thick beautiful burgers and perfectly cooked to your specifications.... More

Loved the green chili cheese burger that I ate at the Santa Fe bite The food was very good. The service was okay. The old location added a lot to the atmosphere. But I still think it's one of the best burgers I've eaten.

Our walking tour guide suggested this restaurant for great hamburgers. The restaurant is just off Alameda, near Canyon Road. We came for lunch and seated without a reservation or having to wait. We enjoyed the patio, but the enclosed dining room was equally nice. We decided on the ham and cheese sandwich and it was warm and delicious! Service was... More

Finally had a chance to get a couple of hamburgers at SF Bite. Now I know why many people consider it the best burger in town. Fresh, cooked to order meat! Tasty and more than one person can eat. Definitely on our "can't miss" list!

A friend's recommendation was a loser in this case. It's located at a motel, and the building isn't as nice as you'd expect for Old Santa Fe Trail near the plaza. The overcooked burgers we waited a long time to get sure weren't worth the noisy crowded conditions inside.
