Description: The Famous Green Chile Cheeseburgers are back! John and Bonnie Eckre, formerly of Bobcat Bite, are taking their food to the next level at the new Santa Fe Bite located inside Garrett's Desert Inn on Old Santa Fe Trail. In addition to their savory Green Chile Cheeseburgers, Santa Fe Bite features fresh tacos, fish and chips, sandwiches, a choice of French or sweet potato fries and a little something they like to call 'The Big Bite' that comes with a side of buttery garlic bread. Creamy milkshakes and homemade lemonade are just some of the sweet treats popping up on their new menu. Also, we are now serving beer and wine. Santa Fe Bite opens at 8am during the week which means early birds can sample tasty Breakfast menu offerings like hot cornmeal pancakes with maple syrup, brioche French toast with maple caramel sauce and house-made biscuits with Mom's gravy. Spend a leisurely Sunday outside at Santa Fe Bite. The new Brunch menu includes eggs benedict, frittatas and huevos rancheros.

23 years ago I went to the Bobcat Bite it was so quaint and homey and the burgers amazing!! Alas it's gone now but I was told that they had opened in town in a much bigger place I was skeptical at best. We went there and although the decor isn't near as charming (they could use a stuffed bobcat... More

This was a visit spurred on by the Food Network. The burger was not good enough to return for. It was cooked exactly to my request, yet the beef was too worked, blended or over mixed. The hot sauce was offered on the side so I could add to my taste. My meal was not hot in temperature, though. My... More

If you want a burger, you cannot go wrong with this place that used to be Bobcat Bite. It is located within a hotel in Santa Fe; Garrett's Desert Inn. Price is right and the quality of the burger is excellent. Try Santa Fe's chile verde for a special treat. It is centrally located, easy walk from the plaza.

While in Santa Fe at a conference, I was staying at Garrett's Desert Inn, your basic motor hotel. Santa Fe Bite is the restaurant on the premises. Both are only a few blocks off the Plaza. My hotel room mate and I were chagrined, however, to find out that the restaurant is only open for breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays... More

The new location is much more convenient in downtown Santa Fe. Quality remains exceptionally good. The 10 oz hamburgers are mountain of goodness. The expanded menu now offers choices for any taste. With the expanded cooking areas meals can now be served to all guests in your party at one time.

The green chile cheeseburgers are iconic and you must have one. The milkshakes are great. In fact everything on the menu is great. Nice place, clean, affordable, good parking, what more can you say? Worth a trip! You will come back and bring friends. But come early for lunch - they get busy! Oh and chile in New Mexico is... More

Called to order take out to visit friend at hospital who specifically wanted the green chile cheese burger. It came with the home made chips! My wife and I each enjoyed the regular burger with mushrooms. Take out came with condiments and plastic untensils/napkins. Good stuff!

Enjoy every savory bite of Santa Fe Bite's Green Chili Cheeseburger. . .we fly from Maui to have one! Perfectly cooked and comes with crispy homemade chips. Perfectly located downtown, so you can dine there often. Sure, we miss the old charm of the old place, but the convenience of this new location is tops! Staff is always polite and... More

For 12 years John and Bonnie Eckre had successfully operated the Bobcat Bite on the Old Las Vegas Highway on the outskirts of Santa Fe. When they had a dispute with the property’s owner over their lease, last year they decided to open a new restaurant near the heart of the Santa Fe plaza; they named it “The Santa Fe... More

Wonderful Chili Cheeseburger. I would come back to this restaurant, just for that dish. They have gluten-free buns (I have Celiac's disease) as well as a great gluten-free option for beer. The service could have been more friendly, everything seemed a bit rushed there. Most important thing was that the food was good.
