Description: The Famous Green Chile Cheeseburgers are back! John and Bonnie Eckre, formerly of Bobcat Bite, are taking their food to the next level at the new Santa Fe Bite located inside Garrett's Desert Inn on Old Santa Fe Trail. In addition to their savory Green Chile Cheeseburgers, Santa Fe Bite features fresh tacos, fish and chips, sandwiches, a choice of French or sweet potato fries and a little something they like to call 'The Big Bite' that comes with a side of buttery garlic bread. Creamy milkshakes and homemade lemonade are just some of the sweet treats popping up on their new menu. Also, we are now serving beer and wine. Santa Fe Bite opens at 8am during the week which means early birds can sample tasty Breakfast menu offerings like hot cornmeal pancakes with maple syrup, brioche French toast with maple caramel sauce and house-made biscuits with Mom's gravy. Spend a leisurely Sunday outside at Santa Fe Bite. The new Brunch menu includes eggs benedict, frittatas and huevos rancheros.

It was our beloved Bobcat Bite, then lucky Santa Fe, it moved into town and became Santa Fe Bite. Bonnie, her husband, and a great extended team not only continues to provide the best, most personal service, but the expanded menu is awesome. For me, the green chili cheese burger is the absolute best burger ANYWHERE, and I have been... More

For a City Different that prides itself in cultural diversity, the arts and a hip populace, the apparent obsession with finding the best burger, especially the green chili cheese kind, seems kind of strange. At least 5 joints would claim title to the best in town. Certainly the one here is right up there. So what? A good burger is... More

Comfortable dining room and pleasant patio dining near Canyon Road entrance. Parking in the Garret Motel parking lot. Some of the best food we have eaten in non-pretentious dining rooms. We make a point of stopping every time we are in Santa Fe.

We just had snacks, guacamole and chips, it was good. I am sure the food is good as there were many people there, maybe because of the rain. Our waiter seemed irritated with us the whole time, not sure why. I was just glad we were staying at Garrett's, we could walk there around the perimeter mostly without getting wet... More

I have lived in New Mexico and Southern Colorado my entire life and consider myself to be a green chile cheeseburger expert and this is by far the best around. Great bun, quality beef cooked just right, good green chile. So good, try adding bacon for another layer of flavor. The outside patio is nice. The shakes are good too.

Our chile cheeseburgers weren't that great and not worth the wait or the price for sure. It's next to an old motel and the inside looks like a school lunchroom. Other places a few blocks away have bettter chile cheeseburgers for less $$.

The last time I stayed in Santa Fe, I had the best green chili cheeseburger at the Bobcat Bite. The old place was a quaint hole-in-the-wall, but it had character and was very popular with the locals, as well as travelers. The restaurant closed and has reopened as the Santa Fe Bite. It is located in the trendy part of... More

Took me a while but finally tried the new location. Stayed with a burger, but menu is far more extensive than the old location. Burger is great. Root beer float was fine as well. Service is good. Recommend the outside tables!

My niece came to town and two of her request was Santa Fe and GC Burger. I have always wanted to try Bob Cat Bite.. But never made it there. So with this being in town I had to try it. It was fantastic! Everyone at the table loved their food. Patty Melts were wonderful, fish n chips were plenty... More
