About 1 and 1/2 blocks off the main plaza, Il Piatto means "plate" and in that spirit offers fine, freshly prepared food at reasonable prices. The atmosphere is very relaxing and the food is truly gourmet. I was told by the bartender that the owner does not want to buy food that can be prepared fresh, so for example, they... More

Wanted a change so we went to the highly recommended Il Piatto restaurant in downtown Santa Fe. The food was excellent as were the desserts. All of the pasta varieties are made fresh every day and you can taste the freshness. Again make reservations, it is a very popular place to eat.

This was one of the must disgusting meals I've ever had. I ordered the duck past, and it came with a heart on top, right in the middle of the platter. There is no attention to presentation, service is mediocre and prices are too high. Portions are small and totally unappealing. A real disgrace.

Il Piatto is a snug, romantic Italian restaurant smack dab in the middle of a town famous for southwestern food. The service was excellent. The wine list was small but very interesting and affordable. Our meals were very good. Highly recommended

This restaurant had been suggested to us by a salesperson in a shoe store and I'm so glad we made it there! The place was crowded and cozy - just our style. The service and food were both excellent.

Lovely atmosphere and very professional helpful service at Il Piatto. The chef's credentials are excellent and gave us encouragement!! We were a party of four. Our friends ordered soup and ceasar salad for their first courses and were happy with their selections. My husband and I each ordered the mixed salad which was I believe $8 - VERY disappointing!! It... More

We arrived a little early for our reservation and were directed to the bar where we ordered two glasses of wine. We were seated quickly and it was downhill from there. Once our waiter acknowledged our presence and brought water, he never returned to our table or even looked our way again. We waited and waited, and once he began... More

Outstanding and very different Italian food, prepared perfectly. We really enjoyed our meal there and will definitely go there again the next time we are in Santa Fe

Had dinner here with several friends. We were seated in the main dining room beside a table of fairly inebriated people who made so much noise we could not have our own conversation, nor could we easily.talk with the waitress. Eventually that table departed, but the noise level was still uncomfortably high. Conversation was then possible, but not very pleasant... More
