Great Night!!

A friend of mine took me out for dinner for my birthday. It was kinda unexpected and we have been talking about going to Il Piatto for a long time. It was during a busy time in downtown Santa Fe (weekend inbetween Christmas & New Years) we did not have reservations and it was primetime dinner hour... read more

For us Il Piatto goes from excellent to disappointing and (so far) back again. This time eating at the bar as we often have before and expecting the usual excellent wine and some nice food, we tried several wines but found no wine by the glass that was close to exceptional and were served soup that came out lukewarm and... Ate here this evening. Would struggle to ever come back. Took forever to get our wine order. Waiter forgot what wine we had ordered and had to come back to ask. There were six of us. When the entrees were brought to our table, they had forgotten one on them. Not just late arriving but completely forgotten. Took about 15... More

I must admit I love traditional Italian and am slow to embrace an eclectic menu. My wife had the Walnut Ravioli and thoroughly loved it. I had the Spaghetti Bolognese. It need more sauce and less meat for my preference. The portions were small for the price paid. The service was outstanding and so was the atmosphere. It just was... More

I love coming here! There is a second happy hour at 9pm with half off particular wines and appetizers.. We had their hot house tomatoes and mozzarella salad, Caesar salad, and a Gorgonzola and walnut ravioli... All was delicious and sufficient for a full meal.

We had a delicious meal and a wonderful evening! I am always worried about restaurants with a lot of shellfish because I have a severe, life threatening allergy. Cody, our server, was so attentive to the situation and as a result I had no problems. The food and the atmosphere were wonderful, we were not rushed in any way. You... More

Experience Il Piatto for the first time this weekend. As a Santa Fean for the past decade, I've been aware of this restaurant, but somehow missed it. What a mistake! The food is fabulous, the atmosphere and service lovely. It's a bit pricey at night, but lunch and happy hours offer less expensive alternatives that I'll try next time.

This quaint little place is very popular among the locals. Romantic and really good. Fisherman's soup was to die for as well as ravioli. Attentive waiters. Try not to sit in the small middle room unless the weather is good.

Located on Marcy Street close to the Plaza. We visited on the recommendation of a friend. Unpretentious decor. Cozy atmosphere, with a noise level suitable for conversation. Our server, Chelsey, was friendly and attentive. We split the calves' tongue with pickles, capers and mustard, the salmon carpaccio with onion and capers, and the cold asparagus appetizers. The calves' tongue was... More

This is a great restaurant with very nice, tasty Italian food prepared American-style. If you want your pasta al dente, you need to tell the waiter.
