Sometimes, one is surprised that after reading very good reviews and recommendations, it is a dissapointing meal. So this is the case. We ordered an antipasto platter with fresh mozzarella and priciutto with roasted garlic and peppers etc. What came out was really terrrible. The mozzarella was doctored up with spices and the priscutto was baked. Ugh! The cannaloni was... More

Four of us went to il Piatto for their Happy Hour (4:30 - 6:00 PM) specials on a Monday. During these hours, all of their appetizers and small plate portions of entrees are half price. Also half price are all of their wines by the glass. Real deals!! We all got the duck pepperdall appetizer small plate of the entree,... More

I have been to Il Piatto many times before and enjoyed amazing dinners. Last week I was there for a business dinner. I had the red chili mussels pasta dish. Half of the pasta arrived in gummy clumps. The flavor was excellent, but the pasta was clumy and overdone. Another at our table had similar problem with the gnocchi.

Visiting beautiful Santa Fe....having lots of southwest food and wanted a change. Decided to go to il piatto for an Italian meal according to the good reviews. Being from the New York area, I knew the meal was not going to be what I was use to.....but....come on il piatto you could certainly step it up. From the first minute... More

What a disappointment. Food and coffee lukewarm at best. Risotto overdone to a tasteless mush. Sister ordered a plain pasta with mushrooms and tomatoes with a little EVO. She received a super spicy mess that she couldn't eat. Combine that with a waiter that simply didn't care and ...voila , an evening that really sucked (pardon me). Take care before... More

I've seen all the reviews that criticize the service, but on our visit, everything was just fine. The food was good, although not spectacular (therefore only 4 stars). The atmosphere is excellent and the "happy hour" with half price wine and appetizers made the meal much less expensive than it would have been otherwise. This is clearly a place we... More

On a vacation with 3 siblings and their spouses. The wine got off to a good start. Appetizers were okay. 3 of the dinners had to be sent back due to being lukewarm. We are not a picky group. So we are a bit surprised about the temperature of our food. The waitress did seem somewhat annoyed. I do not... More

Homemade pasta, fresh salads with delicate vinaigrettes, lovely desserts, great service - this restaurant was a treat. The prices are a little high and the portions a bit small, so I'd not recommend it for a family but for a special night out for a couple it would be perfect.

We've dined at Il Piatto many times and always enjoyed it, This time it was late on Saturday evening, after 9:30. We'd rushed up from Albuquerque for a 7:30 event at the NM History Museum and hadn't had dinner. On reading the menu we couldn't decide between the sweetbreads or pumpkin ravioli or duck all of which we've found memorable... More

We have been here several times and wish we had tried it sooner. We last came during Restaurant week and were pleased again with delicious food. My wife loves the four cheese canellonni and shrimp risotto and I had red chile linguine with mussels and proscuitto wrapped trout, all yummy.
