Nice Surprise

Thought this place looked interesting and tried it for an early dinner. Very nice surprises. First, the food and service were very good and then they knocked off 50% of our wine by the glass, 50% off my wife's appetizer sized pasta, and 50% off both of our salads because it was happy hour... read more

By unanimous agreement in our group, we had the best meal of our weeklong stay in Santa Fe at Il Piatto. Wonderful Italian food in a nice space a block north of the Plaza. Il Piatto came highly recommended by a friend who lives in Santa Fe, and it more than lived up to the billing. The menu offers two... More

We arrived at 5:30 on a summer's eve, a Friday, my husband and me. The place was almost empty besides a few scattered tables with couples. The other patrons looked like tourists. The host (a youngish, high-school looking kid) was shocked we didn't have reservations. That should have been our first clue. The server was rather cold and unwelcoming, as... More

My husband and I enjoyed the patio dining experience at this restaurant, and the drinks, but the food wasn't tops. We were told to check it out for happy hour because of the half-priced food and drinks. We found that both were really only affordable to us at half-price! We tried the calves tongue, artichoke hearts, calamari, salmon, and another... More

This was my least favorite place to dine. It was not crowded...perhaps a sign of its popularity. The food was only notable because of its price, not its flavor.

Il Piato has been a Santa Fe mainstay for a long time. In the last few years they have expanded the property and changed up the menu. It really is a fabulous restaurant. On our recent visit I did the Gazpacho Duo, which was amazing. Fresh, chilled and amazing flavor. For dinner I had the appetizer size Pumpkin Ravioli, which... More

Weary of eating typical New Mexican cuisine, we tried Il Piatto with a recommendation from our guide book. We were so happy...We happened to go during Happy Hour and got wine for 1/2 price. We divided a salad and each had the 1/2 portion of pasta. The portions were perfectly sized and left room for dessert and coffee. The prices... More

Very enjoyable evening at Il Piatto. We were a party of six and the service was attentive and friendly. Menu had a wide variety to please varied tastes. Food was very good in a cozy atmosphere.

I try to go to this restaurant each time we visit Santa Fe, as the food is just wonderful. On my most recent visit (a few days ago), I got a nice surprise. I arrived for dinner (with a colleague) during happy hour which meant an opportunity to get wines by the glass, appetizers and even our main courses for... More

We enjoyed the ravioli with walnuts and cheese and manicott. The pasta was fresh and delicious. They had a long wine list to choose from for dinner. We enjoyed their house salad with a lemon vinaigrette. The triamusu and bread pudding ended our great meal.
