This quaint little place is very popular among the locals. Romantic and really good. Fisherman's soup was to die for as well as ravioli. Attentive waiters. Try not to sit in the small middle room unless the weather is good.

Located on Marcy Street close to the Plaza. We visited on the recommendation of a friend. Unpretentious decor. Cozy atmosphere, with a noise level suitable for conversation. Our server, Chelsey, was friendly and attentive. We split the calves' tongue with pickles, capers and mustard, the salmon carpaccio with onion and capers, and the cold asparagus appetizers. The calves' tongue was... More

This is a great restaurant with very nice, tasty Italian food prepared American-style. If you want your pasta al dente, you need to tell the waiter.

A little surprised at the other reviews as I feel our service was exceptional. The server was attentive, had great knowledge of menu and wine list and checked on us regularly. The food was also great - I had the pancetta wrapped trout and it was cooked perfectly!

Il Piatto has always been our go-to restaurant for lunch and dinner. We used to visit Il Piatto 3-4 times a month but have not been back since our bad experience last summer. The food is good but the service is frequently so-so. We took my husband's sister and her husband to Il Piatto for her birthday dinner. A food... More

I just took an out of town guest to Il Piatto, a guest who's a world traveler. He raved about their creative preparation of Italian food---not the "pasta and gravy" type, though he also raved about their duck pasta. I wasn't surprised. Il Piatto is a restaurant beloved by locals and visitors. The food is always inventive and the menu... More

Food was so so. Service was not good. Atmosphere was nice. The real put off for us was the lack of service. The waiter was so disconnected.

Il Piatto is one of my husband's favorite restaurants and we've had meals in many of the world's best. The chicken livers are his favorite. I like the richly sauced gnocchi. Desserts are sophisticated concoctions that don't rely on sugar for their delicious brilliance. And the cost is almost a scandal as a pre fix lunch costs $16.95! Three expertly... More

Just attended a group function here. The service was crisp! The meal was great. Salad fresh, pasta tasty and desert was too sweet (not a bad thing). Wine list a tad on the pricey side.
