Excellent Mexican Food!!!!!!

I was staying in the area one snowy night around Christmas 2015. I called The Pecos Trail Café to see if I could get some carry-out as I didn't want to drive on the icy roads. At first they were reluctant, saying they were letting their staff go home early because of the roads. When I explained I was minutes... More

You'd think there would be lots of good places for Mexican food at Santa Fe. There are many Mexican places, but surprisingly few good ones. Pecos Trail Café is one of the best. My favorite is their yummy chile rellenos with an enchilada or 2.

We live in the neighborhood so have eaten there several times and at different times of year. We've had several dishes and all were very good. Portions are generous and service and atmosphere are significantly better than the usual New Mexican restaurant in Santa Fe. Their chile sauces are gluten-free.

My husband and I got to this place about 30 minutes before their closing time on a Saturday night and it was not crowded at all. Service was perfect; servers were timely but not hoverers. They were also able to describe the menu items very well. I had the Roast Beef Burrito with green chili sauce. It was huge, but... More

It was our first re-visit to this property (formerly Peppers, etc.). The re-incarnation is a good one. Not crowded (at all) and eclectic mid-range menu. Enjoyed the Sam Adams Java Stout (draft) and huevos rancheros with carne adovada on the side. The flan was a good finish.

We had it with the green Chile sauce, but I would suggest getting it with the Red. I got a pork dish with the Red Chile sauce and I loved it.

Lots of good parking spaces. Personally greeted by Chef Jorge Antuna as we were coming in. We had a sauvignon blanc (French) while we had a good look at the menu; lots of Veracruz-style foods - seafoods. Having eaten here before I was thinking 'standard burrito or chimi' but opted for the special - salmon soup ('pescadora' by name). It... More

This is a very modest restaurant right on Old Pecos Trail where the food is outstanding! Chef Jorge Antuna personally sees that everyone's meal is just right. The steaks are to die for and cooked just right and the Mexican food is cooked with fresh, natural produce and tastes wonderful. They have a wonderful selection of wines, but the Sangria... More
