OMG - The elixirs of chocolate were amazing! And, the staff were very friendly, helpful and provided tasters of the many elixirs. The truffles were rich, but some of the Fruit flavors were a bit heavy-handed and so intense, they took away from the chocolate experience. That said, they were still pretty tasty in small amounts. The only downside is... More

Chocolate lovers of the world should unite at the Kakawa Chocolate House in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The proprietor makes his own chocolate and serves the most wonderful chocolate elixirs in tiny cups. This warm drink can have the bite of chile (not really hot just a warm after burn) or the orange sweetness of a more European style, but... More

Cute place to stop for a break and a delicious treat. Love the Milagros. Glad we stopped. The white chocolate, pistachio macaroons were fantastic!

Their warm chocolate elixirs are extraordinary, and their ice cream was one of the best I've ever had (and I'm rather obsessed with chocolate ice cream.)

My son goes there at least twice a week after school for his chocolate fix. Cheaper than after-care and way funner he thinks. He gets his homework done in no time all. I love it too, and have been a happy customer since the very beginning.

I'm not understanding the rating system here. 1 - It's not a restaurant. Just chocolates and some cakes. 2 - the chocolates and cakes were pretty average. 3 - They're only open til 6. How can you go there for dessert if they're only open til 6. And finally, their house specialty are these chocolate drinks. Thick and bitter beyond... More

Really delicious chocolate in many combinations and unique flavors. The staff is super-friendly and their suggestions are spot-on. Both the candies and the drinking elixirs are delightful. Kakawa is for adventurous chocolate-lovers. Did I mention they have CHOCOLATE?!

A true exotic experience for the chocolate lover willing to try something different. If you don't believe chocolate and chile go together this should change your mind. Small and intimate with a friendly staff that will let you sample any of many elixirs (not all spicy). They also have house made chocolates. Try the chocolate/caramel dipped chile's if they have... Kakawa is an excellent concept that falls short of delivering. Although it's fun to go in, get a tiny cup of weird chocolate, pay more than you expected and realize that the drink is cloyingly sweet and really not that good, the fun is fleeting. I decided that I'd buy some chocolates, hoping that they'd be more palatable. They weren't.... More
