Our party of four stopped in 20 minutes before closing in an empty chocolate shop. The chocolatier was most accmodating. Having been plied with samples of all the goodies we were interested in we ordered more chocolate than anyone should! All delicious and cheerfully served. Would recommend this venue to anyone truly intent on a Chocolate experience!

This small cafe/shop is just a short distance from our hotel and so we were able to walk to see what all the fuss was about. Well it deserves the hype. This was the best chocolate ice cream that I have tasted. The hot chocolate and cookies were equally good. The people who run this shop really know what they... More

We didn't a actually go to the kakawa house, we went into the haagan daaz on the square in old town, which serves the chocolates and kakawa drinking chocolate. They were out of the 2 spicy flavors so I got samples of the american and new Mexican chocolate, neither were very appealing but I thought maybe the american would be... More

If you like chocolate, Kakawa Chocolate House is the place for you. If you're walking it's not easy but worth the visit. However I don't know if I'd make it the number one restaurant in Sant Fe.

Since Kakawa was featured on the Food Channel I decided to stop in a take a look. The staff is great, very friendly and helpful and very generous with their samples of hot cocoa. The cocoa is unlike any other.. thick, creamy, a superb flavor. It's difficult to believe one could get rapturous about hot chocolate.. but.. omg.. chocolate with... More

This place is great to visit if you love chocolate. I really enjoy the mesoamerican-style chile hot chocolate. It's a nice little spot. You get free samples when you come in to help you choose which drink to buy.

With so many choices of chocolate "elixirs", it was wonderful to have a sample of one or more options. After you've chosen your drink, you're faced with choosing a chocolate treat to go with it. Life is so tough 😉 Be brave and go for it!

Outstanding chocolate and chocolate drinks. Staff is well informed of product details. I can see why it is rated #1, although I don't normally make a "meal" of chocolate. Really, really good though and take the time to drop in and try a sample. There is gluten free also. My fave is the Mayan hot chocolate.

Kakawa serves yummy, decadent desserts and all things related to chocolate, but to call it the number 1 restaurant in Santa Fe is a total misnomer. Restaurants serve meals. Kakawa has delicious chocolate goodies, but you can't get a proper meal here. At best they serve a niche market for tempting snacks.

The chocolates here are truly outstanding. Homemade and a little different to take back, or send back home. A lot of them are very lightly sprinkled with red or green chile which if you haven't tried it may sound a little weird but really works well with chocolate. They are also very pretty to look at. They also have a... More
