I was lost again in Santa Fe when we came upon the Kakawa Chocolate House. My wife and I got a warm dark chocolate drink that was exceptionally good. We also shared a dark chocolate chip cookie that was also excellent. The young lady that waited on us was pleasant and helpful. If you like chocolate, you'll need to checkout... More

Ahhh....a chocolate lover's paradise! The hot chocolate, the truffles, delicious! Glad I don't live in Santa Fe, as I would spend my fortune at this wonderful shop.

Of the various boutique chocolate retailers in Santa Fe, this is definitely our favorite. What sets it apart from the others is their elixirs. They come in two sizes so be aware that the larger size will give you a chocolate jolt. My wife ordered a plain milk chocolate drink while i chose the chili flavored drink. Both were outstanding... Kakawa has amazing options for liquid chocolate! Who knew that Chocolate could be SUCH a delicacy! With the many different tastes and percentages of Cocao everyone will find what they want. The little chocolate bites are all good, and if you like a little spice get the mexican chocolate with red chili. This would be a perfect date idea I... More

This is a very small place with some very big flavors to delight (and maybe shock in a good way) your chocolate loving taste buds! I ordered a small 'Americano' and yes, it is really small- but enough to get the taste and richness- high quality so you don't need a lot. That being said, the small was 3.50. We... More

The make, like, gourmet hot chocolate, but it's so much more than that. Rich, flavorful, incredible. They have a few 'standard' flavors that are always available and rotate numerous others. There were spicy, sweet, dry and on and on. Great chocolate baked goods selection, too, and a few fun souvenirs. Bought a couple packs to take home that were good...but... More

Some of the most unique and delicious hot chocolate that I've had anywhere. They say about themselves..."Our passion is authentic and historic drinking chocolates." The hot chocolate is most likely unlike anything you've had before. Four Stars!!!

In May when I was in town, I went by this place because of the good reviews. The chocolates I was interested in buying were not much bigger than a Hersey's kiss, and they were over $4 each. Why would anyone pay such a ridiculously outrageous price? It's sad when success makes a business that greedy.

I was very excited to try this place, especially being the #1 spot on TripAdvisor. It's very hard for me to turn down chocolate, let alone gourmet hot chocolate. I sampled 5 of their flavors before settling on the "traditional". While the flavor ideas were neat (Zapoteca, Chili, Rose Almond, etc), I found that they were all a little bit... More

Second time here. Wasn't really impressed first time around which was three years ago. To be fair, I probably ordered the wrong drink. I like dark chocolate, but it was too one note for me. This time I ordered the American. It was awesome. Great chocolate flavor and well balanced. Also tried the salted caramel ice cream covered with fudge... More
