This came highly recommended by the hotel concierge so we arrived (sans reservations) with very high expectations. We were immediately seated at a patio table, which had a kitschy (albeit fun) theme. There were very few patrons so we were surprised by the amount of time it took to receive service. The chips and salsa were very good yet the... More

One of, if not the best, blue corn cheese enchiladas I've ever had! The blue corn was exceptional. Plus, being a bit off the plaza, they weren't insanely busy like a lot of restaurants are that are right at the plaza. Also, one has to get "Christmas" as both the green chile and the red chile were equally delicious.

In the land of super-hot chile, I had to be careful! While I wanted to try authentic New Mexican food, I had to avoid dishes that were too hot or spicy. Fortunately, Casa Chimayo had no problem with my special request--and the atmosphere was quirky, colorful, and charming. The chicken tortillas with onions, peppers, beans, salsa and sour cream was... Original adobe restaurant with excellent authentic southwest food. Very casual and also recommended by the locals. Make reservations as it is small, but charming.

Very disappointed in this restaurant that was recommended to us by the inn, in which we stayed. The hostess seated us in their waiting are, which is NOT anywhere near the UN-watchful of the hostess. We were the only ones in there and we did see and couple of empty tables. An attentive waiter noticed us sitting in there and... More

Casa Chimayo is located in a historic adobe house with funky Santa Fe charm. We enjoyed the blue corn enchiladas & Posole. The food tasted authentic like it was made by someone's abuelita in the kitchen. Generous drinks, affordable prices, and friendly service.

To start the place is dingy, wobbly tables. We were seated next to a window which you could feel the draft due to the wonderful clear tape used in place of glass. Service was terrible, 10 minutes for our drink order plus another 10 to receive them. The food was mediocre at best, and WAYYYYYY overpriced. I've never seen a... More

We started the meal with a Prickly Pear Cactus Margarita and a Red Chile Margarita; both were delicious but the Red Chile one was fabulous! Then homemade chips (very thick) and delicious salsa. The Chile En Nogada was a differently delicious appetizer. We shared a Rib Eye steak meal (sorry, can't remember the name) and it was perfectly cooked and... More

We stopped here last year on a trip to Santa Fe and it was worthy of a second visit. We started the meal with the homemade chips (delicious) and fresh made salsa...yum! Everyone ordered something different and all enjoyed their entrees which included Blue Corn Enchiladas, Carne Adovada, Lamb Tacos and Tortilla Soup. Nice size portions. Was a little busy... More
