Sushi fix in Santa Fe

Great sushi roll selection, served very fresh, Hot Sake was excellent. Service was good, small environment so conversations tend to be over heard. Only one warning, they serve thier rolls on Wax Paper and they tend to stick and fall apart.

Don't order anything but the sushi, sashimi, and sake, which are all excellent. The tempura and miso are just edible. (We didn't try the curries.) The service is kinda awful. Everything took at least twice as long as it should have. The menu includes some interesting New-Mexican-fusion items. On a rainy Monday the place was full at dinnertime but it... More

We walked by this little restaurant and decided to try the sushi. We were lucky to find a table because it was Saturday evening and we didn't have reservation. The sushi we ordered didn't just look delicious, it also tasted terrific. The staff was very friendly and the sushi was made freshly behind the sushi bar. We would go there... More

I asked the locals and I was not disappointed about this great sushi place. Sea weed salad was crunchy and tasty. Sashimi was fresh and the pieces a filling size. We order a few rolls all of then were tasty. My favorite part was the sitting are on the pillows, for tourist this is a great experience. We had a... More

Santa Fe has many great places to eat. If you decide you want to have some sushi instead of New Mexican red or green then this is the place to head. The entrance to this small (5 seats at the sushi bar) restaurant is located on Water Street. Inside you get the feel of a small sushi bar on a... More

Nice warm atmosphere, good sushi. We go there all the time! Also good prices! My only problem is the wine selection! Beer is good but wine selection is limited.

Based on many, many meals at Sushi Land East, my wife and I (longtime resident of LA, myself from Seattle/Portland with time in Japan, both considering ourselves something of sushi connoisseurs) agree that you can get excellent sushi in Santa Fe, and that Masa San at Sushi Land East makes downright excellent meals. Shohko Cafe, by the way, is also... More

Small, Intimate restaurant. Sushi just melted in my mouth. Just one block off of the Plaza but you can reach it by walking thru the little shopping arcade that is on the Plaza.

Having tried just about ALL the other sushi in town we decided to give this a try for dinner before a concert at the Lensic: food was average and service sub-par. They were "out" of wine and sake never arrived, but the bill did while still eating. Doubt that we'll be back, too many better choices nearby...

I have been to Sushi Land East many times, usually for lunch. It is always excellent! The restaurant is small and cozy. The service is equally excellent and very efficient. The wait staff is eager to please without being overbearing. I can highly recommend this little gem of a restaurant in the middle of downtown Santa Fe.
