Having tried just about ALL the other sushi in town we decided to give this a try for dinner before a concert at the Lensic: food was average and service sub-par. They were "out" of wine and sake never arrived, but the bill did while still eating. Doubt that we'll be back, too many better choices nearby...

I have been to Sushi Land East many times, usually for lunch. It is always excellent! The restaurant is small and cozy. The service is equally excellent and very efficient. The wait staff is eager to please without being overbearing. I can highly recommend this little gem of a restaurant in the middle of downtown Santa Fe.

Although the sushi looked both very fresh and beautiful, we do not eat raw fish. Our excellent waiter suggested the curried chicken dinner, which was seasoned with the perfect amount of curry--not too heavy. This dish contained good vegetables, as well, making a great one dish meal. We would definitely eat here again. Restaurant is small but food and service... More

Great little place with great sushi. The service was great also and food was delivered quickly. I was suprised to find great sushi in the middle of the desert.

I've been to many different sushi restaurants but no one close to quality, presentation and attention to detail. The staff is helpful great with advice. One of the top restaurants in Santa Fe.

We live in Santa Fe but travel quite a bit. We love sushi and are willing to try it almost anywhere. Hands down these are some of the most creative and tasty rolls we have ever had. Our favorites- Tokyo roll, tranchan roll, and spicy tuna hand roll. Any roll that has tempura green chili is a must. We haven't... More

You don't go to Santa Fe to eat sushi. However, given its reputation for good restaurants, I was willing to give it a try, and my friend and I were very hungry. I will say the service was very nice; our server was friendly and extremely polite, quiet and eager to please. Too bad great service can't really elevate food... More

I had never been to Sushi Land East, but after reading the TA reviews, we went. The sushi was kinda stinky. We ordered about 10 different things and none of them were that great. Granted, any place can have an off night, but I'm inclined to keep going to the other places in town that I've enjoyed for a while.... More

My experience here was awful. First, the service was atrocious. I actually had to negotiate with the waitress as to where I would sit because for some inexplicable reason she wouldn't let me sit at the tiny table for two and stuck me off in a corner. Then she rushed me through my meal and practically threw the check in... More

I suppose I was led by the reviews here to expect too much. The fish is fresh and prepared well, but after eating in truly stellar sushi places around the country and in Japan, I can't give it 5 stars. The rolls were predictable and the nigiri presented without any embellishments. Good but not great, although even while I was... More
