Dinner with some old friends

The food is wonderful, beautiful presentation and service excellent. Reservation is a good idea, otherwise you may have a little wait.

Lots of spice but not all heat. I had Kenyan beef skewers and husband ordered lamb stew which was too spicy for me but he loved it. Big bowl with rice on the side. Very friendly staff which was competent to describe preparation of dishes we asked about. Normally we do not get dessert but they had key lime pie... More

I love this place. It is casual and friendly and the food is so awesome. I love the jerk chicken and it is just like I remembered it from a trip to Jamaica.

Jambo is a very special place. Not only have they won the community Souper Bowl (for the best soup) several years in a row, but the food is locally grown (wherever possible) delicious and it is simply a really energetic FUN place to go. The owners are great people too.

Service was excellent and attentive without being intrusive. Thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience. The expansion of the restaurant gives a lot more dining space, and, being in a shopping center, no parking problems.

Been meaning to review Jambo for a long time. Going again tonight with two friends coming into town. Last time: Spiced marinated Dover sole over multi-grain rice with sauteed brussels sprouts and sugar snap peas with a turmeric sauce that also had a bunch of bay leaves (me). AND, Kenyan beef kabob on saffron new potatoes with grape tomatoes and... More

Having traveled to several countries in Africa, I wasn't expecting this African/Carribbean fusion place. It is quite the eclectic selection of North African dishes. The plantains were a little too greasy for my taste. The hummus sandwich was delightful. I would go back if I lived here.

I had heard many good comments about the Jambo Cafe but when I visited last week, my experience was very disappointing. Granted the cafe was packed with large and small tables of foodies. Unfortunately, the service suffered terribly and our server was quite abrupt and brisk and failed to hear our drink orders properly. For example, I asked for water,... More

Went for an early dinner after a day of hiking in Bandelier. When I asked for a drink item that is not offered, the waiter asked condescendingly if I "had ever been here before". Actually, yes, Mr. Hair-In-A-Knot-On-The-Back-Of-Your-Head (made up name as you never shared),as a matter of fact the last time I was in I brought 11 people with me... More
