Enormous sandwich and I went with the mixed fries (sweet potato and cumin fries) with an excellent mayo/mustard/curry (mild) dipping sauce. An amazing value for $9. Went on a Wed night and it was packed, but got a seat immediately.

Jambo offers an eclectic mix of African cuisine and consistently excellent food every time we eat there. The service is warm and attentive in this unpretentious, family friendly restaurant. There are vegetarian and vegan choices on the menu as well as some meat dishes. I love the jerked chicken and my husband often gets the lentil stew. The food is... More

Visited Jambo Cafe during restaurant week. The special menu was really wonderful. The vegetarian and the fish entrees ordered from this 3 course menu. Both with complex flavors and a unique combination of familiar and new ingredients. Kids in the group enjoyed the plantain appetizer. Dusted with cinnamon but not sugared. The quality of the plantains was extraordinary. If you've... More

Though located in a Cerrillos Road strip center, Jambo is sure to please. Afro-Caribbean based cuisine, always well cooked and cheerfully served, has a good measure of spice as does the friendly staff. A veritable bargain in pricey Santa Fe, Jambo has earned a special spot for locals and any tourists lucky enough to find this gem.

We've eaten at Jambo Cafe for both lunch and dinner and the Jerked Chicken is my all time favorite. Perfectly cooked, top with cooked plantains, it is delicious. The service is great, price is right, everything about it is terrific. Make it a regular stop when visiting Santa Fe

The food is quite different and very good. Nice to find a restaurant in Santa Fe that is different. Food excellent flavors. Staff friendly and prompt. Atmosphere only so so as it is located in a strip mall. I would definitely recommend for a relaxed casual lunch or dinner.

As frequent travelers to Africa for 30 years we get our "Africa Fix" by going to Jambos. Ahmed makes the best African dishes that taste as though you were back in Africa. We always start with the fried plantains and have a goat stew or a lamb dish. Save room for one of the mango desserts. Ahmed, the owner, is... More

There are a lot of restaurants in Santa Fe, but this is one of my favorites. Tomasita's is the other. There isn't a bad thing on the menu. I don't usually order desert, but the Mango Cobbler here rocks my world. The food ranges from spicy to mild, but the flavor range simply runs the gamut of "really tasty" to... More

The plantains are warm and delicious. I had the combo with coconut chicken, lamb stew and lentils. They are all so good I couldn't decide. If you are looking for something yummy and different you have to try Jambo cafe.
