Best Fish and Chips - Think Again

First time on the island I was hoping for some seafood. The restaurant advertised best fish and chips on their outside signage so I though why not...simple enough. First impression from the young ladies who were the servers...why was I there? Lunch I thought. One of the servers was especially... read more

When you eat at a seafood place in a beach town, you expect high quality food. Even if it's a casual/diner environment. The sign read "World's best clam chowder" but the chowder lacked flavor and had very few clams. My boyfriend got a $16 seafood platter, it was mostly fries and the seafood was boring at best.

This is our haunt for breakfast while waiting for the ferries. The staff is friendly and gives good service. They don't skimp on portions so we always split an entre'

This food is all fried... We try to go there... Their hours are erratic and aggravating. The sign will say open and then as your waiting to be seated they come out and tell you to leave because they are Closed. Not real friendly... Their old waitresses were awesome... I am not sure but I think there was a change... More

I guess if you are on a harbor, you'd better serve great seafood. This place looks like a diner, and a hard-used diner, at that. But don't be put off by the worn appearance. The food is excellent! Oysters and chips were not over-cooked, over-breaded, and jarred. They still tasted of the sea. The fish was fresh and moist. And... More

The breakfast menu is excellent. The view of the harbor and the ferry system is great. The waitstaff are very friendly and sweet. I like that they grind their own beef, so if you have a hamburger, you know you are actually getting hamburger. I had an avocado mushroom burger that was out of this world. For breakfast I had... Just a block from the Friday Harbor ferry terminal. Good selection and great portions. The service takes you back to a nostalgic time with a small town feel. Would certainly go there again.

Very good if you are looking for an inexpensive very casual burger or fish and chips. Retro "malt shop" décor-or lack thereof. Best burger I had on the island-double bacon cheeseburger. Friendly staff-very young but trying hard. You may feel like "Fonzie" all over again.

The six of us enjoyed an excellent breakfast during our wait for the ferry to Victoria Island. We docked, put the car in line, and hiked a very short distance up the hill. The timing was a bit tricky, but our waitress assured us that the food would arrive in time to make the next ferry, and it did. Really... More

Were surprised that it was difficult to find a good place for breakfast in Friday Harbor. Right off hostess told us we could sit down but it would be a long wait for our food. Not an auspicious start but a decent breakfast as it turned out. Both eggs and pancakes were well prepared. Coffee was only adequate.
