We ate at the Duck Soup Inn on Friday, September 25, 2009. The restaurant was crowded and it is apparent that reservations are necessary. Service was excellent and the food was delicious. I had steak Diane and it was the best I ever had. Prices were reasonable considering the quality of the food. If we return to San Juan Island... more

Duck Soup Inn entrees come with soup and salad, but one should not go simply for full bellies. The quaint dining room and friendly staff make this an inviting stop in the San Juan Islands. I had a special - salmon with pesto sauce served with couscous and summer ragout. It was phenomenal. The only downside was the prices --... more

Set about 5 miles from Friday Harbor this is worth the cab ride (use Friday Harbor cabs- the best deal). We had a splendid meal including a starter of smoked salmon, then excellent salads, Steak Dianne (spouse), and fish stew served with wonderful black sticky rice. Every bit devoured. Restaurant is set in lovely wive colvered building, with ample parking... more

You get more than what you pay for at Duck Soup Inn. The entree includes soup and salad, which makes dinner a bargain considering the quality of the food. The soup of the day changes based on what is in season and I have never tasted such imaginative use of ingredients. Scrumptious! The beef is locally grown on Lopez Island... more

We enjoyed a meal at Duck Soup Inn on July 3rd, and loved it. The food was a little pricey, but you definately got your money's worth. I had chicken with blueberry sauce and mashed potatoes, and smoked oysters as an appetizers. My companions also definately enjoyed their meals. I was very pleased with the chef's emphasis on local and... more

~The food was a CIRCUS IN MY MOUTH! ~At the table....homebaked sourdough bread served with a special treat that night of anchovy pate'. Did they know I was coming??? Salad made with ingredients grown by the chef--delicious. The grilled scallops served with a thai based mix of glass noodles and traditional thai "heat". We got the first piece of the... more

Delicious food, accommodating staff. This place is small so you must have a reservation - even when you think there will not be people there on a Monday nite. We were lucky in that another reservation failed to show. Wescott Bay oysters are delicious. Salad was the best I've ever had - no prepping and storing in the fridge at... more

We had a splendid meal at the Duck Soup Inn on a recent Sunday. Although we had not made a reservation, we were seated within minutes and the service was simply impeccable. The Westcott Bay Applewood Smoked Oysters appetizer was excellent, as well as the salad and our main courses: lamb for me and the scallops for my husband. We... more

We have eaten dinner at Duck Soup Inn five times, the last time being in June 2009. We have never had a bad or even mediocre meal there. The interior is warm and appealing, with wood paneled walls, funky artwork, and linen tablecloths. But the food is the main reason to go, particularly the soup. We have had the best... more
