This Is Why It's Crowded

After having suffered at the Blue Water across the street, we were really pleased with our first visit to the Cask. Busy, yes, but efficient service and great food selection and tasty too. Reasonably priced. Chose THIS place to wait for the ferry.

The ambiance was incredible...and perfect for the marina. A giant sized schooner, the menus and nautical water jugs... every detail reminded you where you were... the food was really good... The fish was local and the beef was local as well. I especially loved the Rudyard Kipling poem in the restroom... nice touch. :) Definitely would eat here again.

We flew in for lunch and picked a spot near the water. This pub served the purpose. It was mid week and mid day and there wasn't a problem getting a table. Service was friendly. A soup was delicious and appeared housemade. They use the local bakery for the breads and buns and those were good. A chicken sandwich (they... More

Went here on a busy weekend and waited about 20 minutes for a table. A bustling place in the summer. Our orders were taken and we were served in a reasonable amount of time. The food was good and prices reasonable.

Being on island- I expected more seafood. There wasn't a lot options on menu. Loved the bacon dated appetizer, and fried cods and fries. Was hoping for more seafood options on this island

Our food was very good. We were most impressed by the special soup of the day, Chicken Tomatillo. It was slightly puréed and layered with flavors.

We came here after reading the reviews on trip advisor. We wanted to try the shelled clams and grilled squid but they ran out of them. We settled for a burger and mussels. The atmosphere is almost like a sports bar. Pletty of people and a bit noisy. We are here in the off seasons so many of the locals... More

This place was one of the best rated in the area (without being too fancy) so we had to try. They had beers from my boyfriends hometown in California (Old Rasputan and Scrimshaw) which was an excellent sign. We got the chicken sandwich (highly recommended by our hotel) and the burger. Both were great. We sat in the bar area... More

Some of my family live in York so I have had ample opportunity to enjoy the mushy pea. These are not mushy peas. But....I thought your rendition was very tasty indeed. The view from the bar is completely worth your stiff prices. Service was good. Nice schooner.

We had yummy drinks (Moscow Mules) and chicken Cesar salad and cup of seafood chowder. No complaints. Would recommend to anyone and will visit again.
