We've been coming to the San Juan Islands for over 20 years and have our list of restaurant favourites. Tried Coho on our last visit and again this time. Consistently great experience, creatively prepared food, nice wine list, and attentive service. This restaurant is now on our must visit short list.

Nice menu - we could have just worked our way down the starters. Extensive wine list. Service was a bit spotty, but food very good and well-prepared (my king salmon was perfectly medium-rare). Small room so a large party can make it a bit noisy.

Coho was repeatedly recommended by locals we talked to and we were glad we went for dinner. It's very small, maybe only about 10 tables, so you probably can't get in during peak dinner hours without a reservation. The service was very good and the food was expertly prepared. I think it was the best salmon I've ever had. We... More

Unimpressed. Instead of intimate/romantic, Coho should be called cramped. We were seated in a corner, right next to the restroom. How romantic! We ordered a bottle of white wine, and they didn't even have a wine cooler or bucket of ice. We order a salad and soup as appetizers, and the halibut and scallops as a main course. They were... More

Colleen, Thank you for dining with us. We are sorry that your dining experience wasn't typical. During the summer season, our restaurant can be quite busy. Coho is a small intimate dining room and we balance a fine line accommodating guests with a reservation without compromising the dining experience for other patrons. We did host a large group the night... More

But a fantastic feast, nonetheless. We made reservations which was a good idea as the number of wait staff is limited and reservations enable management to plan ahead with staffing and fresh food prep. There were three of us and the total check of $ 192.00 was not in our usual budget but as we'd heard such good things about... More

We were lucky enough to get a table without a reservation and I'm so glad we did! The food was amazing and so was the service. The restaurant is very small so I definitely recommend making reservations is this is somewhere you really want to eat.

Not knowing anything about Friday Harbor, we choose Coho based on reviews- some good, some bad. We found a wonderful, quaint restaurant with wonderful food. Being with a foodie, I prayed the food was great and we would deal with service. To our surprise, the food was outstanding as was the service. All courses left us feeling very satisfied. We... More

This small quaint restaurant was a good experience. The ingredients were fresh and mainly local, but I felt the chef could use a bit more flavor. I ordered the lobster and shrimp salad and the sole and both dishes were missing salt and a bit bland. Desserts looked just funtastic. I like the restaurant and feel they have lots of... More

You start with their fresh herbed bread and continue with the most wonderful experience. The grilled octopus is a MUST have. I tasted my husband's snd was so jealous, but my chilled lobster and shrimp with a hint of mint was delicious as well. The halibut with all it's goodness neatly tucked underneath it filled your appetite with the perfect... More

Small and comfortable with quality food. Charming staff! Nice selection of local wines. A little expensive though nice for a special night.
