A true piece of Mexico here in the US. Truly authentic gorditas. My favorite are the flour ones although corn and flour are both delicious. If you eat here you have to try the bean and cheese and preferably on flour. You will not be disappointed! But any filling you chose you can't lose.

The last time I visited one of these was in Monterrey, Mexico so it was a delight to try their unique recipe's yet again. They take a flour tortilla, cut it in two and then stuff the interior different types of fillings ranging from potatoes, pork, chicken, corn, and more, each with different types of sauce. My meager explanation doesn't... More

We were a little suspicious before we stopped by. There were several negative reviews here on TA. Guess what! Those guys were full of frijoles! The manager is an amiable master of graciousness. His name is Ignacio, but his friends call him Nacho. We let him know that this was our first visit so he took the time to make... More

ZERO STARS!!!! Terrible customer service by the MANAGER. My To-go order was missing 2 Gorditas a few weeks back and I called and gave them my name to get credit next time. When I finally came back and tried getting my credit my name was NOT in the "folder" so the manager "did me a favor" by giving me 2... More

My wife and I discovered Dona Tota when we visited Ciudad Victoria, Mexico many years ago and fell in love with the quirky little restaurant located down a quaint residential street. For years we would travel to Ciudad Victoria just to go and have gorditas at Dona Totas and you can imagine our delight when we discovered one in San... More

This place is very authentic& family friendly. You walk up and order at the counter and they call you when your order is ready for pickup. The food is simple but good. Gorditas made fresh by hand right behind the counter where you can see. Major variety of fillings and a few different sides to choose from.

This is a very simple place and is a chain in Mexico. The gorditas are small, but that is how they are in Mexico: prices range from $1.60 up depending on which filling you order. I love the simple picadillo with a glass of iced tea. The size is bigger than a half dollar, as one other reviewer reported: About... More

I went here and the gorditas were good. However, they were about the size of a silver dollar....tiny and around $1.80 each. I also ordered a side of rice, which came in a condiment size foam container. I will not return.

We love gorditas and have had them across the southwest. A couple of years ago, we had the best gorditas at a mexican food stall at "El Mercado" in San Antonio. We made a detour this year to stop to have gorditas at Dona Tota. Although there were a lot of choices of fillings and the ones we tried tasted... More
