After the rainforest cafe we decided on ice cream for the hot walk back to the hotel. My son got regular vanilla and I got the chocolate chip cookie dough. It was kind of hot in there for an ice cream shop but everything else was fine since we were not going to stay there and eat anyways.

After eating a large lunch on The Riverwalk we were barely hungry for a dinner. We opted for ice cream at HD. Their chocolate was heaven and a perfect snack/dinner overlooking The Riverwalk.

It is right on the corner with the Menger Hotel. It offers a refreshing treat on a muggy evening walk about the Alamo. Try the Pineapple Coconut ice cream.

On the corner of the Menger Hotel and across the street from the Alamo Plaza it was the perfect place to stop for a treat. The service was excellent and the kids loved the ice cream and sorbet.

Great stop in on our visit. Just enough to cool off after a long day of sightseeing. Friendly staff, clean establishment.

For two coffee blended drinks the cost was over $13. Nice variety though. Helpful employees to visitors.

Wanted a malt - got "we are out of milk" - I was angry - I said "go get some - this is an ice cream place". I left.

The ice cream was delicious and only 5.50. That is cheaper than expected for a nice delicious treat downtown.

The ice cream is great but expensive. The only problem is the young guys were more interested in flirting than paying attention to other customers. Also they were very skimpy on the amount they gave unless you were a cute teen girl.
