Vive La Frite!

I had lunch at La Frite during a recent trip to San Antonio for work. The food was terrific. I had the croque monsieur (grilled ham and cheese with a drizzle of white sauce) and my friend had a generous portion of quiche. Both came with a small salad and bread and butter. Reservations for three plus a baby. Promptly greeted and shown to table. Waitstaff quick, attentive, knowledgeable about beers, wines, specials, and recommendations. Try the Tripel Karmeliet beer. I actually pushed my wine aside to order this beer after tasting friends beer. Started w shrimp fritters which were served three to an order. We each tried a chilled soup, mine was... More

We've enjoyed this Belgian-themed spot many times. Escargot, crab crepe, brie tart, all really good. But mainly we come here for the mussels, served in a bucket, and be sure to order their twice fried potatoes that are mouth watering. Fine selection of Belgian ales, good service, rarely too crowded on week nights. Highly recommend.

Believe me: before this I thought San Antonio restaurants weren't that good but this place made a difference. You can have champagne while you eat delicious mussels. You have to visit this place!

This is one of my favorite restaurants in San Antonio. Great ambience and excellent food. The best selection of mussel entrees. Also try the steak tartare or the beef filet au poivre. Leave room for the dessert since they are absolutely delicious.

This place is wonderful and the food is incredible but skip lunch before dinner to save some space! It's in a great place in King William but the parking is somewhat limited so leave time to find a place to park.

The restaurant was suggested from a friend who had eaten there before and really enjoyed the food. The fried lobster tail was amazing as were the beef tenderloin. The fries are also a must to try, they did not disappoint. The restaurant was very busy when we arrived but the staff was friendly and attentive. They were able to accommodate... More

While on a business trip last week, my husband and I walked by this charming little bistro. Stopped and had a delightful lunch. The quail was impeccably prepared. The breading just right. I had the jambon and cheese crepe. Equally yummy. The owner and her son visited with us making the experience even better. This area of town appears to... More

This place is awesome. We shared the small portion of the moules as an appetizer. Then enjoyed the steak frites and the chicken in puff pastry. Everything was cooked to perfection and the prices are reasonable. There is a good selection of wine and beer. This place is not to be missed. It was the best restaurant of our trip... More

My husband, son, and I had a lovely lunch at La Frite. I highly recommend this restaurant. Our son had rich, delicious crepes, my husband ate mussels, and I had a chicken dish with lemon, caper sauce. The Kwak was an excellent beer choice.
