A local took me to La Frite and I loved it. It's a very unassuming little restaurant but with classic Belgian menu. She had the Croque Monsieur and I had the Vol Au Vent, which was really delicious. I wish I'd saved room for dessert!

Looking for a break from Tex Mex in San Antonio? Head to Le Frite! It's a cozy little bistro at the far end of downtown, near HemisFair Park. We pulled into one of the designated parking spaces and tumbled in. First of all, we had a GREAT waiter. Even though Le Frite doesn't have a kids' menu, our server fixed... More

We wanted an alternative to the many Mexican restaurants in the area, and I found this one on Trip Advisor. It is just down the street from Rosario’s on South Alamo. They have a typical Belgian/French menu, and all six of us enjoyed our meal. It is within walking distance from the city center Riverwalk area.

Four of us dined at La Frite for lunch and were not disappointed. Great little restaurant with wonderful service. We shared an order of foie gras and then had four entrees...two orders of mussels, flounder and a bowl of carrot soup. A few glasses of wine and we were set. Look forward to going back! By the way...if you like... More

This was our first time. It was very busy this Saturday night and we had arrived at 6PM. Our waiter was very good. Truly enjoyed the food and the mussels where great. Foie gras was excellent and served on a small Belgian Waffle with a great sauce. Coulod have been a bit more Foie gras on the plate. The only... More

We arrived at La Frite a few minutes before it opened, and the staff let us come in from out of the cold. The food was very good, with the highlights being the fries (of course!) and the chocolate mousse. The server was very warm and attentive, and the atmosphere is really cute.

Three of us had a delicious halibut but my husband chose the Belgian Battered lobster tail which was described by our server as sort of like tempura. Well, after one bite, he looked rather ill and announced that it was not only raw but also still FROZEN! It was whisked away and they brought him fresh frites, told us it... More

Have been there many times. The food is first rate. Fine European classics alongside more experimental dishes. Can get a bit loud at peak hours. The service, alas, is spotty, especially when they get busy. I've come to expect a leisurely meal, not a place to go if you have a concert or movie planned for a specific time afterwards.... More

The food has gone downhill. Endive salad was like eatting a plate of mush. Sent back and received a house salad. Not much better. Mussels were over cooked. Lamb was mediocre. Sad because this place use to be good. 2nd time we were back and still the same. Too bad because the service was excellent. Tip for owners, heat up... More

Love, love, love this place!!! The mussels are amazing, I think I have had all flavors and Thai is the best. Also had the strawberry fennel salad... Perfect pairing! Can't wait to go back!
