La Frite was very good and with great atmosphere. Local people and not far away from the congress center.

First time after being 8 months away from Belgium that I tasted a good "Steak frites" and I loved it. The steack was cooked perfectly and fries were delicious as good as in Belgium. The staff was also very nice. If you want to try Belgian food, you need to go there for sure.

If you're looking for something out of the ordinary and you're not allergic to seafood, then here you will try one of the best Mussel Casseroles in the Alamo City. They also have an ample selection of Belgian Beer (definitely worth to try) without being the typical Irish Pub we all have been to. This place is great for couples,... More

Went in with a group of four. Service was outstanding. The moules were good but small. The frites were good but not what you'd find in Belgium. The mushroom soup, according to my companions, was excellent, and the salads were imaginative and presented beautifully. The entrees ranged from good to very good. The wine list is adequate. With a bottle... More

Visited la Frite for dinner, during a visit to S. Antonio. The bistro looks inviting, yes, really European style bistro-like. Nice winelist, but our starter, 'kroketten' had little to do with 'kroketten' in Belgium... the winelist is good, but the food was sadly, mediocre. Not a great steak. All in all a bit disappointing....

This is a very friendly place, and family owned. The food is delicious and there is a nice ambiance. Parking can be difficult, but it is worth a trip.

My wife and I stopped in on Saturday night while on vacation. We only had to wait 20 minutes and enjoyed a great Belgian beer (St. Feuillien) while relaxing on a sofa. We both ordered mussels and were pleased to see two nice big bowls of mussels and a generous sides of frites brought out to our table shortly. The... More

We were in Belgium just a couple of years ago. so we know that Frites are french fries ( which the belgians were the first to do ) so of course we walked into this lovely little bistro, with absolutely excellent food.. A great place..

What a lovely little restaurant this is. We had incredible service and excellent food in a charming atmosphere. It has a limited but nice wine selection, so we both had a glass of wine. We ordered a large order of Bavarian mussels to share and they were exceptional. We added the blue cheese and that made the broth exquisite. I... More

Tables were small and crammed. We had reservations for 5 for 6:15 and got a table for 4 that they forced 5 people on. We asked for a larger table but he said the place was totally reserved. Really? We were the second people to arrive and would have left by 7:30 had the food arrived faster than an hour... More
