The Iron Cactus is a great place to eat on the Riverwalk! Steven, our waiter, not only gave us great service, but great advice for what to do while in town. The food was excellent, reasonably priced and more than we could eat. I would definitely recommend The Iron Cactus.

Came with my family on vaction. We went in for a drink. Those margaritas were addicting! Lobster tacos were the bomb! and the hospitality was so refreshing for a tourist destination. I came out feeling like a local. Jasmine was our bartender and she was nothing short of amazing. I wish the had one of these in Florida

Great location on the Riverwalk. Very good margarita. Best chicken enchiladas I've ever eaten. Courteous staff.

While tasty, the portions they give you for the shrimp tacos and accompaniments are very small. The rice and beans were especially flavorful. For the price, this "entree" is more like an appetizer. You would need to get a real appetizer, entree, and dessert if you really wanted to have your stomach feel anywhere near full. I loved the fact... More

Wondered in trying to cool off from the heat and were pleasantly surprised, Happy Hour! So we sat in the bar to order a margarita. The waitress explained all the different types of tequila (a lot) and offered a few suggestions. We ordered drinks and appetizers and both came out great. The apps were overpriced but its the Riverwalk so... More

The good: Our waiter. He seemed to be covering every outside table alone and while the location was initially busy, he did his best to keep us in drinks and chips. The bad: Everything else about the experience. It was a Wednesday evening around 7:45 when we were seated outside (on request) after a short wait. Drinks, chips and salsa... More

Went to visit my daughter at UT/Austin and since her favorite food truck was not in sight, this was her next favorite. The staff was great, the food was much better than one would expect in a college town, and I thoroughly enjoyed the variety of choices. Will stop there again for sure.

Recently visiting the Iron Cactus in San Antonio. I have visited the restaurant On numerous occasions. Their food is always fresh but their drink selection is the main reason for the visit. They probably have the largest tequila selection I have ever seen. Additionally, many signature cocktails are available- all prepared fresh! I highly recommend the chicken tortilla soup and... More

We went looking for good food on a Sunday night and found the Iron Cactus. The service was prompt and sitting upstairs we were treated to live music as well. Some of the dishes had interesting spice combinations which my fellow diners said were excellent. I went for the old standard carne guisada and was not disappointed. The meat was... More
