Sadly disappointing. Wanted to eat here after having tried in Austin. Felt they really didn't have the quality food I remember. Tortilla tasted hard, almost like it was old or perhaps over cooked. The chicken could have had more flavor. My drink was really good, but then ordered a different drink and sent it back. Think I will stick to... More

The food here is excellent, they have table side guacamole that is to die for! The guacamole is prepared at your table by the waiter and is delicious. They also have authentic Mexican dishes they also, have outside seating right on the river walk.

Quiet on a Tuesday seated outside near gas heater with a canopy of Christmas lights over Riverwalk. Had coupon for Queso which was great tasting. Our entrees Chicken enchiladas were dry maybe because my wife didn't try the Verde sauce. I had grilled fish shrimp and calamari was good. The Best was the Queso and Ritas. Excellent service.

Stopped in here for a quick, light bite to eat. They have a good tequila selection with very good margaritas. The grilled chicken taco salad was delicious especially with the fresh guacamole. Service was very good, our waitress was really sweet.

We have eaten here several times and love this place, but this time was not good. I should say the service was not good. The food was great as always, but our waitress was awful. There was a total of 8 at our table. We waited for over 10 minutes before she even came over to ask what we wanted... More

Great margaritas and amazing food! They have a chile relleno that you have to try to believe - definitely not your average fare! Martin, our waiter, was especially helpful and friendly!

We planned a family outing for the Christmas parade on the river and chose the Iron Cactus to make reservations. It was a disaster! The General Manager sent an email recommending arrival at 7:00 which we assumed was knowledgeable information. We paid a set amount for appetizers buffet, entrée and desserts. We arrived at 7:00 to find all the appetizers... More

had an early evening dinner at the iron cactus with my wife. while the restraunt is on riverwalk, the outdoor tables are behind a low wall so you are removed from the foot traffic along the riverwalk. the food was very tasty and well prepared and presented. great ambiance and very good service. would highly recommend

The Iron Cactus is a bit away from the more congested part of the River Walk, so eating outside was a pleasure. The prices were a bit high, but it seems you get what you pay for on the River Walk. All of the food was full of flavor and a step away from ordinary. The enchiladas were simple, but... More

We're from Southern California and so we know, eat & love good Mexican food. Iron Cactus serves top Mexican starting with terrific light (paper thin) crisp chips with two salsas: one warm spicy and the other cold milder. Even though it was a crisp December evening with the gas heaters we were comfortable. Large trees and a fern garden separates... More
