Great traditional heart of san antiono

If you have never visited this place it's a must. A bit of traditional San Antonio in heart of market square. The bakery is a plus as well.

This is our favorite place to eat in San Antonio, the food is delicious and the experience is authentic. Yes, it's crowded and no matter what time you go you will wait, but it is well worth the wait! Their margaritas are the best I've ever had, their enchiladas are too! Plus, it's in the market which is a must... More

Drove straight to this landmark upon arrival. The flour tortillas are somehow just unattainable elsewhere. The pollo enchiladas Verdes are also primo. Open 24/7/365 yup, they Never close.

Mi Tierra is a fun place to stop in. My favorite is the bar area. Otherwise pastries are unique but just okay. The dining room and food there is also just okay. I'd go again but in the bar for drinks and snacks ;)

Wanted some authentic Tex Mex, not something on The Riverwalk. I read some local threads from other visitors about this place, so we went. This was nothing extraordinary. Our Mexican restaurant in South Carolina had the same fare. Only what was worse, I ordered the tacos and the beef was pretty flavorless. Then I had two HUGE pieces of gristle.... More

My wife and I visited Mi Tierra on a Sunday morning. I suggest that you get there early since a line forms quickly for both the bakery and the restaurant. We ate in the original dining room which had a huge mural on the wall and also included a band playing traditional Mexican songs. We tried both the pastries from... More

We are from Texas, and my husband is from San Antonio, and we ALWAYS eat at Mi Tierra when we are in town. Even though we have eaten there since we were both kids, we do not go there for nostalgia. We go there for the AMAZING FOOD. It looks like a tourist trap -- long lines, over-the-top decor, high... More

Good place to go for late night dinner. WILD decor with Christmas trees hanging upside down from the ceiling. The bakery there is wonderful. Be sure and try the ginger pigs!

Be prepared to wait. Fun, festive atmosphere. A classic San Antonio institution. A little overpriced, but you are paying for the atmosphere. Wide assortment of dishes. Great salsa. Bakery with awesome pralines. Adriana was excellent waitress. Been going for many years.
