Not bad of a restaurant, but the bakery is great

Being Hispanic myself, I kind of have a biased opinion as far as what Tex-mex or Mexican food should taste like. But the food is good. Many of our friends love it. The bakery is definitely worth going for. Be prepared to have a long wait for both the bakery and dinner. The ambiance is great, from... read more

I ordered the Monterrey Special, which was supposed to come with young goat, beans, an enchilada, and rice (one of the most expensive dinner plates). After I received the dish and tasted the goat, it was obvious the goat was a well-aged (old) goat. It tasted disgusting and left a horrible after-taste in my mouth. I didn't see my waitress... More

I, along with my family of 18 went to Mi Tierra Cafe y Panaderia to celebrate my mom's 98th birthday. She along with all of us had a blast. We had the mariachis sing songs to my mom and she loved it. The atmosphere was lively and people were friendly. And our server, Lorena Martinez was just as kind and... More

Mi Tierra is a San Antonio landmark. Located in the Mercado it has great food, outstanding service and a beautiful and interesting facility. Make sure you check out the murals in the back of the restaurant.

This restaurant is just fun. They have huge decorations hanging from the ceiling & decorating the walls. Live music fills the whole establishment and the food is very good. People wait in lines to get a pager and then wait for a table. It takes a while but the food was good & there were many choices. I am unable... More

This place is a one off, it's like stepping into a Christmas tree! The decorations are crazy but create a great atmosphere/environment. The food portions are large and reasonably priced so I'd definitely recommend a trip.

Good menu selection. Food is great. Drinks are great. Service is great. Bakery offers a wide variety of Mexican sweetbreads, cookies, etc. Prices are good.

Food was good. Atmosphere was fun! I enjoyed the music but you do have to tip the musicians. Waiter was awesome. Super attentive. Not the best texmex, but very good. Cheese ensalada was great.

My husband and I had a frozen margarita with no salt and a shot of grand marnier. It was delicious, the portion was generous, and the price was better than most restaurants. My husband and I both ordered the plate that has the steak, enchilada, tamale, taco, and beans and rice. My son had the picadillo nachos. Everything was delicious.... More
