Modern decor, Tex Mex spot gets high marks

Our concierge at the Omni La Mansion del Rio recommended this spot at 146 East Houston St. on the street, not river, level when I asked for a top rated Tex Mex spot that wasn't a chain or real touristy spot.. Our server, Emmanuelle, was excellent and also knew all the new foodie places in San... read more

Hats off to our waiter Fernando who helped make it a wonderful dining experience for my wife and I. We had an outdoor table and Fernando had great recommendations for the food and the specialty margaritas. The salsa was great as well as our entrees and dessert.

The menu choices are creative and different from the standard fare. On our visit to San Antonio we wanted something different than the typical "standard fare" Tex-mex. We discovered it at this restaurant for both lunch and dinner. The tortilla soup was the best I have ever tried, along with the lettuce cups. Excellent presentation and taste accompanied our entrees.... More

...Different is not always better: the ceviche was too much presentation and not enough fish within the dish. Beautiful decor, though, and had friendly wait staff. If dining inside, don't get table(s) by the waiters' door to the balcony area, as the high staff traffic in and out there would be a big distraction to having a nice meal if... More

Great location and tremendous food selection. This is above the riverwalk so you get the ambiance without the crowds strolling by your table. Make a reservation, as it gets quite busy. The duck confit crepes are great, but everything there is! Spring for the chile con queso dip - wonderful....

We popped in right after our show at the Majestic. They have great outside seating. Spare rib tacos were fantastic! I've had much better enchiladas, beans and rice though. Prices are average. Service was prompt. Atmosphere is nice.

We ate here during a trip for work. They served buffet style (as requested and paid for by th conference I was attending). The food was very unfortunate. Very bland and just odd selection. The drinks were also nothing special. The server tried his best, but couldn't save this awful meal...

Enjoyed the Queso Flameado / Baked Cheese, Chile Relleno de Res y Puerco/Stuffed Pepper, and Crepes filled with roasted Duck Confit during recent visit here ...the crepes were awesome! The owner also manages Rosarios in San Antonio, my favorite restaurant during my stay. Modern, festive interior and nice patio seating on the riverwalk. A bit off the beaten path but... More

We met in the bar for drinks--Bar entrance is on street level, and seems quite popular (and loud.) We had a group that ate outside--again, very loud. Service was good--very anxious to please, but they were definitely overworked. (Ie, hire more staff!) Occasionally, it seemed like presentation of food was paid more attention to food than quality...and everything was very,... More

It was an over all pleasant experience. The food is good the margaritas are better but the servers were scarce. I think they should hire more but overall a good time to be had here.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
