A Very Nice Surprise

I have walked past this restaurant a million times and finally walked in. The salsa is amazing even thou they only give you small portions at a time, unless you beg. Visited twice in one week and had avocado enchilada plate with beans (one of a few that can be made vegan), they were very good... read more

The server was friendly, and tried being helpful with his entree suggestions, but, his recommendation fell flat!!! My husband ordered the waiters recommendation, sour cream enchiladas and I ordered traditional cheese enchiladas. Well, the cheese enchiladas were the WORST enchiladas EVER! And the sour cream enchiladas were nothing to brag about... My opinion, the corn tortilla was tough, barely any... More

Loved the food! And tried Agua Frescas! The melon flavor was delish! Our waiter was attentive, and gave our Grandbaby a balloon!

I have eaten at Tomatillo's at least once a month for years and years. Their tortilla soup and fajita tacos are great, in fact, there is a combination plate if you like them both. Their Margaritas and happy hour specials are also excellent. As for the service, it has always been on-point and friendly. If you're looking for a good... More

Best tex mex Restraunt in San Antonio. The service was great and the food was even better. So much variety and the Margaritas are the Best.

It's in the middle of Alamo Heights but worth the time to get there. The Tampico plate beef steak was cooked to my taste and tender. Enjoyed every bite and there was enough to take home. My wife had one of the Tomatillos Enchiladas Verde and loved it. We didn't have one that day, but the margaritas with the beer... More

The beverages were fantastic. The Wednesday night karaoke was awesome. I had the chicken chimichanga, I loved it. This place was very loud and had a huge college age crowd. It was a fun place. I would absolutely be back.

This restaurant serves up typical Tex Mex fare. I have had the fajitas and quesadillas. The fajitas were quite good. The quesadillas were ok. I would order something else. I could drink the fresh tasting tomato salsa. Yum! The flour tortillas are fluffy and perfectly doughy. The margaritas are huge! I had a margarita with chambord. it was very refreshing... More

Went there because it was recommended to us. Arrived early for dinner during happy hour, seated quickly. Chips and salsa arrived...the chips were rancid. I inquired about them to our server. She said other customers had complained and her manager said "they had 2 barrels that had to be used up before they would cook any more chips". I should... More

A friend from Houston told me about Tomatillos. He said the food service and atmosphere are worth making the effort to find it. Thanks to a good GPS we found it not far from our hotel near the airport. He was correct in everyway! Good size portions as well!
