I've been here before, about 7 years ago- its the same. A small house converted to an eclectic bar. Small, tight tables nestled around a small makeshift stage. Order at the counter and have a seat. We had the sangria and queso flameado. It was good- the chorizo was flavorful and the sangria while weaker than a normal glass of... More

A friend and I wandered over to Carmen's one Saturday night expecting to hear some jazz music. Instead, it was world music night but it was still quite an enjoyable time. We ordered a pitcher of sangria but realized later that we could have ordered just a carafe. We also ordered the mango & baked brie, a flatbread pizza with... More

The flamenco show was fun and good. The food however, was just okay. They just serve tapas, "appetizers" so don't expect a meal. I did know this going in. It is a small establishment and you basically share tables with others which was also fun. Sangria was just average and was advertised as the best in town. Service was good... More

This is a small place where you order at the bar from a blackboard menu. Their alcoholic drinks are limited to local beers, wine, and sangria. The reason to go to Carmen's is not the food, although it's fine, it's the flamenco performances on Friday night at 8:30 and 10:00. I got there late, so I saw the end of... More

A small cafe/cabaret, they make fabulous, delicious small tapas plates which are great for sharing. On different nights they have different entertainment should as flamenco dancers, jazz and blues singers. It's a great place to spend a fun and yummy evening.

Came for the sangria and sweet empanadas with ice cream. The sangria had ice and was nothing special, but had a kick. Just a hint of fruit. Nice atmosphere.

If you enjoy a great ambience and looking for something different Carmen’s ’ is the place. It was our first visit and it will not be our last. We visited Carmen’s this past weekend and enjoy the total experence. Everyone made us feel at home (like good friends just getting together for some good entertainment) Carmen herself was above and... More

My sister, myself and our husbands were having a destination weekend in SA for my parent's 50th anniversary. I had searched a couple of web sites looking for something interesting and different to do (away from the Riverwalk crazy) and was excited to find a place where we could get tapas and experience flamenco. We frequently do our own tapas... More

I had heard about Carmen's and driven by before, but hadn't visited until recently with my boyfriend. He's a local musician and knows the owner and lots of folks who play jazz here frequently. We arrived after the music had already started - the King William Jazz Collective - so things were already in full swing. There is more bar... More

I recently visited Carmen's for my best friend's birthday. We were a party of 5 and each of us experienced unpleasant events: not enough menu items, having to ask for water, and even being asked to stop dancing to the jazz band that we were all looking forward to enjoying. But most upsetting was the treatment from Carmen herself. I... More
