Big portions - good pit Barbeque

From out of town, not familiar with local dives, read reviews and were not disappointed. Nice big portions, very tasty barbecue and sauce was great...not your typical chain restaurant...great service, first time there and person at counter explained all our options...highly recommended.

Can't get enough of this place, ever since I found it, it's been at least 5 times that I went there just for the lamb ribs. Staff can improve a little but overall a good experience every time!

This is as good as BBQ gets. Truly amazing smoked meat nothing prepackaged or rigged to taste this the real deal. Detoured to this place despite a tight travel schedule and it was worth it. The brisket is great good portions.

In Northwest San Antonio, 5145 Fredericksburg Road, outside Loop 410. Not a fancy place, just very good BBQ, in fact, some of the very best you can get in San Antonio. Pork and Beef ribs, chicken, sausage, brisket, a number of sides, and wheat or white bread. (not all bbq joints give you a choice of bread, ya know.) It's a... More

This is the second trip I took to this restaurant. Took my wife and two sons, they had the Chopped sandwich with one side - good price and the plat came out great. My wife and I ordered the 3 meat plate. The rib and sausage came out good but the brisket was a bit chewy on this trip. My... More

This place was suggested as THE place to go for good TX bbq. What a joke! I took this as my dinner contribution when visiting friend's that I had not seen in years, and I was completely embarrassed. The ribs were chewy and tasted like they had been sitting out for two - three days. I would have done better... More

After a day of visiting the missions and walking around San Antonio in the heat I had little desire to head out for dinner, but I am glad I did. My wife and I went to Old Smokehouse for dinner and we both had the brisket with sauce, coleslaw and potato salad. I don't like coleslaw or potato salad, but... More

I've eaten at Old Smokehouse maybe 25 times in the last year. The barbecue is the best I've ever eaten, and the sides are excellent. The service, well, depends. Sometimes the service has been as good as the barbecue, but sometimes the man who takes your money has other things to do for 5 minutes or so after another server... More

The Marbled Beef Brisket is so tender, juicy and tasty. Pork ribs are big and meaty. Sauce is perfect and portions generous. Going back again soon to try their lamb next.
