We have been here at this location for more than 25 years and all the meat has been smoked by Robert all these years!! Our goal is to satisfy our customers. We use mesquite wood to smoke meat from start to finish. You will find out why we got awarded for Critic's Choice by San Antonio Express News!!

Big portions - good pit Barbeque

From out of town, not familiar with local dives, read reviews and were not disappointed. Nice big portions, very tasty barbecue and sauce was great...not your typical chain restaurant...great service, first time there and person at counter explained all our options...highly recommended.

This is the second trip I took to this restaurant. Took my wife and two sons, they had the Chopped sandwich with one side - good price and the plat came out great. My wife and I ordered the 3 meat plate. The rib and sausage came out good but the brisket was a bit chewy on this trip. My... More

This place was suggested as THE place to go for good TX bbq. What a joke! I took this as my dinner contribution when visiting friend's that I had not seen in years, and I was completely embarrassed. The ribs were chewy and tasted like they had been sitting out for two - three days. I would have done better... More

After a day of visiting the missions and walking around San Antonio in the heat I had little desire to head out for dinner, but I am glad I did. My wife and I went to Old Smokehouse for dinner and we both had the brisket with sauce, coleslaw and potato salad. I don't like coleslaw or potato salad, but... More

I've eaten at Old Smokehouse maybe 25 times in the last year. The barbecue is the best I've ever eaten, and the sides are excellent. The service, well, depends. Sometimes the service has been as good as the barbecue, but sometimes the man who takes your money has other things to do for 5 minutes or so after another server... More

The Marbled Beef Brisket is so tender, juicy and tasty. Pork ribs are big and meaty. Sauce is perfect and portions generous. Going back again soon to try their lamb next.

We stopped here for lunch and the BBQ Beef Brisket was awesome! I will definitely be back to try another item on the menu.

truly authentic BBQ in the heart of San Antonio. I wished I had known this place before because it is now one of my favorites. Sausage, brisket and beef rib are really awesome, full of meat and flavor. The cream corn is delicious! If you love BBQ this place is right! $22 for dinner for two people! beat that!

While traveling, restaurants can be as important as your hotel – Where you eat and where you stay can make or break your vacation. As part as my travel plans, I always check restaurant reviews and make note of several places. The, I ask the locals where they eat. This was a match, so we headed to Bob’s Smokehouse, now... More

This place is really good. I give the meat a 5/5 and the sides a 3/5. The meat is slow smoked over mesquite and oak, and they have an old school pit boss that knows what he is doing. Took 5 people here and got a family pack, everyone was full and the food was delicious. The brisket is extremely... More
