This casual, upscale restaurant offers innovative American cuisine including the freshest seafood from the Gulf of Mexico, Atlantic and Pacific, great steaks from Allen Brothers in Chicago, and regional and seasonal specialties. Daily lunch and dinner specials feature local ingredients whenever possible. The Kobe beef burger can be paired with hand cut French fries, crispy thin onion rings, homemade lemon-pepper potato chip or potato salad. There is an outdoor patio under a canopy of oak trees that's shady and extremely popular with locals and visitors to San Antonio. The brunch offered on Sundays features a menu of classic egg dishes, fire-roasted prime rib, Texas pot roast, jumbo lump crab cake, and top entree salads, chicken and seafood dishes. Cappy's has an ever-changing, dynamic and well-priced wine list, with great choices by the glass or bottle. Full bar.

The food is nice here, though quite high in cost for a lunchtime menu. I would say it is very pleasant dining.......but was personally rather disappointed that we made reservations for lunch a few days ahead, and yet we could not sit outdoors, and rather, were given a table near the serving station & exit!! Also, we were given a... More

Knowing that I will be reviewing a restaurant, I am always relieved when it so clearly deserves five stars. No further decision to make. Here, the food was superb and absolutely deserves five stars. Alas, the service let us down. In fact, towards the end of the meal, when things got busy in the restaurant, service totally disappeared. For me... More

We went for a brunch on Easter Sunday. This restaurant does not have the usual pretention that you experience on this side of town. It was upscale, yet relaxed. Now to the food, although it's a bit on the pricey side but I feel like it was worth it. We had some classic dishes (Eggs Benedict and Ranchhand dish)and both... More

Date night at Cappy's. We were craving seafood and decided to vear off of the list of top 10 seafood restaurants in San Antonio only because we were in the mood for Char Grilled Oysters. So all of the places on the top 10 list for seafood in SA did not serve cooked oysters except Pappadeaux's which we have been... More

Chose Cappy's for a business dinner with an old colleague whom I hadn't seen in years, based on TA reviews. Disappointed to say the least.S service was extremely haphazard - waitress was definitely not "there" that evening. She forgot part of the order, brought part of main course before the appetizer - that sort of thing. Food was mediocre and... More

I chose Cappy's as my 'birthday dinner' of choice during a recent 2 night stay in San Antonio. The Mr. & I throughly enjoyed our meal of Prime Rib, mashed potatoes, green beans, and button mushrooms. We also had a side of brussel sprouts that were delicious. Knowing it was my birthday, the waiter kindly comped our dessert of warm... More

We were reluctant to drive 75 minutes but the reviews were all so good we decided on a Sunday ride for brunch... so glad we did. The brunch menu was simple with a continental flair in preparation. I had a truffle buttered scramble with lobster and wife had a florentine style eggs benedict with brie. Wow!! Dessert was not going... More

After a long day of sight seeing, we wanted a local favorite outside of the tourist section. After driving through Brackenridge Park, our last stop in Alamo Heights was Cappy's for dinner. Lovely atmosphere, and lucky for us Friday/Saturday are prime rib nights. We split an order (a minimal charge) which was the perfect size. Great food, nice wine selection... More
