Interestingly different

The restaurant is hidden away in a two-story shed-like building set back from the street in Alamo Heights. The menu is somewhat eclectic, with an emphasis on seafood. I was torn between the rack of lamb and a special for the evening: duck, prepared in two different ways. I was told it came "medium... read more

Service was very good, cozy atmosphere a little loud. The wedge salad was basically make it yourself with all of the ingredients separate on a plate. I ordered the lamb and was disappointed with the cut of meat, very thin and fatty for $32.

What a find. Nestled on the drive between the McNay and Witte museums which makes it a perfect stop for lunch/brunch while visiting the them on a Saturday. We arrived pretty late (1:30pm) so understandably the Saturday breakfast special was sold out. Menu was split equally to breakfast items and lunch. We opted for lunch - cobb salad and a... More

Always well prepared, fresh foods. Pleasant atmosphere. Good bar and decent wines. Not cheap but not unreasonably priced. We often eat seafood in restaurants. Cappys can prepare seafood without overlooking it. Not easily done. Presentations are also nice. Sides are available and come to the table at the right time and temperature. Always delicious in 78209

A popular spot for upscale but not fussy dining in Alamo Heights. Busy at lunch and dinner. The menu is varied and imaginative with daily chef specials. One oddity: restrooms are on second floor, so if stairs are a challenge, you have to go next door to the affiliated cafe.

In Texas area for 8 days. So far this restaurant is the best. Price is quite expensive, but very worth it. The service is also super.

Met a few co-workers for a late lunch. Parking was limited due to several other businesses around but I found parking in the back. I initially went into the wrong restaurant so pay attention to the names on the doors. Nice bistro type atmosphere. Very attentive wait staff. Not a huge selection of menu items. I am glad I went... This is my favorite lunch spot in the Alamo City. Though they also serve amazing dinner meals, lunch usually fits my routine best. Located on Broadway in downtown Alamo Heights, this restaurant has been feeding locals excellent food for decades. I have loved their chicken salad with mango mold for 30 years. Seriously. They have excellent creole, as well. My... More

Excellent food and service. Good variety of selections. Parking is limited and can be an issue. Portions are a nice size without going overboard.
