Enjoyed dinner with our group at this bistro. We had fish which was well prepared. The music started right before we left, and it was very nice jazz fusion. Not too loud for the space.

We are from out of town and were visiting the Japanese Tea Garden. The hunger pangs hit and we had no idea where to go for lunch. I arbitrarily searched for an Italian restaurant in the area, and it led to a small plaza on Boardwalk. We never did find the Italian restaurant however, we found Boardwalk Bistro. There was... More

Got the name from Wine Spectator magazine. I'm a vegetarian but travelled with meat eaters. Menu looked good. We chose the tasting menu and they were very accommodating to me. App great as was the bread and soup but all four entrees fell short. Had a jazz band who were good but the drummer had one too many loud solos... More

My husband tracked down the Jim Cullen Jazz Quartet and found they were playing at the Boardwalk Bistro. We went for the jazz and were bowled over with the delicious food and wonderful service. Probably the second best dinner I can remember. The customers seemed to be regulars and obviously loved Jim Cullen. I bet we were the only people... More

I have to agree with stoss19. We went when Mr. Lara, a Jazz artist in SA and the music was great. The service not so good. The food we ordered was OK especially the Tapas. Would I go back to hear Mr. Lara but not especially for the food or the service. Procesco was very good, however.

My husband and I had been here twice before and the food was decent so we decided to try it again for restaurant week. We had reservations and we arrived about 5 minutes early. Even though we arrived early I expected the host to be there to greet us. We waited for about 10 minutes before we were acknowledged and... More

I’ve dined here twice now, and the secret is tapas. They put as much care in their appetizers and salads as their entrees, and you get twice the variety for the same dollar amount. The grilled fruit salad is crisp on every level, with a lovely al carbon to the fruit. The couscous salad is bulky and very tasty, but... More

Dinner here is an amazing eclectic experience. There is a Middle East aroma about this place. We were greeted by Megan, who was also our server. She was quite a treat. You can order a la carte or from a price fixed menu. We decided on the four course platinum selection. Our appetizers were crostini with creamy goat cheese, cherries,... More

Almond pesto butter on top of noodles and veggies while listening to the Jim Cullum jazz band AND sipping wine. It can't get better than that! Ok, top it off with some of their Tiramisu and just call it a night. If the pricing is too much too handle then I suggest you make it out there at least once.... More

This is one of the can't miss restaurants in San Antonio if you like Mediterranean specialties. The menu is extensive, the food well-prepared and presented. They also have chosen to offer half-sized portions for those of us with lesser appetites. My only criticism is that because of the small dining area the pianist tended to drown out our conversation.
