The Alamo Shall Never Be Forgotten.

Alamo cafe is the epitome of TexMex and has the best queso, tortillas, and margaritas. In a town that's all about Mexican food, I've had my share of so many variations, but Alamo Cafe is by far the best and my favorite. I've eaten here for 19 years and keep coming back!

We had lunch here - nothing remarkable, good or bad but portions were generous. Our server was excellent, however.

Run away, fast. Drinks were horrible, food was bad and cold. American cheese on nachos? To see any good reviews is unbelievable. People must like dog poop to give this place a good review.

I stopped in at Alamo Cafe, just like I do most times I'm in San Antonio. The food is consistently good and the prices are excellent for what you receive. I had the sour cream chicken enchiladas - the chicken was a little dry but still tasty. And the margaritas were perfect. I'll definitely be back to Alamo Cafe, if... More

A group of us met at the Alamo Cafe for lunch around 11:30. The waitress sat us at the big round table in the corner which was perfect for catching up with everybody. She took our drink order, set out chips and salsa and let us take our time with the large selections on the menu. I ordered the enchilada,... More

Fresh hot tortillas, good food, good prices. Every time we come to San Antonio we always stop here for our Mexican Food Fix

Saturday night dinner. Service was fast, attentive, efficient, and very pleasant. Fajitas were good and sides were equally good, even if chicken was somewhat dry. Tortillas were excellent. They do need to clarify that the brisket tacos are actually barbacoa and not slow-roasted, traditional brisket.

My first Chile Relleno (with chicken) was at this Alamo Cafe in the mid 1980's. It's my favorite because of the red sauce. The margaritas are very tasty, too. But the handmade fresh tortillas keep us coming back for more!!

This place was busy but we got fast enough. I ordered the brisket quesadillas. The meat was good but I wish there had been more of it. The tortilla soup was more like vegetable soup with a few pieces of chicken. I wasn't impressed. The tortillas brought to our table were great!

A friend of mine took me here in May 2014. I thought I would try the Tortilla Soup. I have had better. Their Tortilla Soup taste like it was made with enchilada sauce and chopped chicken fajitas thrown in. The only thing that tasted good in this meal was the crispy whole corn tortilla garnished with avocados a little cheese... More
