We were greeted warmly for lunch. When as asked about items that were discussed in other reviews, but not on the lunch menu, we were assured we could have anything we wanted as well as prepared however we choose. They had an unusual pale green salsa to put on their chips. But it turned out to be tasty with a... More

Ernesto's is *always* a treat in good dining. On our latest visit this weekend, it seems that the quality of the food just keeps getting better and better. Ambiance and service has always been excellent - it can't get any better. My son and I both ordered the "Steak San Antonio" which is a small cut- it- with-your- fork- melt-... More

Been here a few times with family and friends. Food is delicious as its not your typical Mexican and seafood cuisine. Great ambiance and knowledgeable wait staff. Entrees are VERY pricey, but well worth it that will keep you coming back for more. For a family of four, including two kids, we paid nearly $200.

Wonderful food of elegance...hand crafted. Ernesto helped me order....via a conversation. He sat with me, pampered me, and his son presented the works of art. Fried oyster and something I cannot pronounce as an app, but lump crab meat was inside. Delectable! Main course beef tenderloin hopped with lump crab meat. And a desert to die for, mango pineapple based.... More

My husband's office is near this restaurant so he'd been to Ernesto's for lunch a few times. He was taken in by Ernesto's passion for his restaurant. We'd gone to a nearby restaurant that turned out to have a really long wait, so my husband suggested Ernesto's. I'm very sorry I said yes. My husband went along with Ernesto and... More

For my first evening in San Antonio I was a guest at Ernesto's Mexican Specialties, a wonderful find that seats about thirty. We were greeted warmly by Ernesto himself, who introduced his wife and family/staff. He is very proud of his restaurant and menu, but he also told us about the specials and explained what went into everything. The seafood... More

Hidden away in a little strip center corner...the food was so good, cold avocado soup with lovely croutons, some of the best fish tacos ever eaten in San Antonio. The owner is terrific, drinks are great..love this place!

We love the shrimp enchiladas. They are the best we've ever had. The sauce on top is nice and mild, making the entire dish delicious. My husband and I do not like hot spicy food. We like to taste the food not the heat, and every meal we've had at Ernesto's has been very good and flavorful. The salsa that... More

This is a must stop for me and my wife, because this restaurant and staff always make it a great evening and meal. Their hand mixed margarita's will compare well to your favorite's and might even become your new favorite. My wife judges her Mexican restaurants by their tortilla soup and she loves Ernesto's. I live in the seafood section... More

I was here several years ago and from that past experience, I knew that I had to return during this business trip. Ernesto greeted and welcomed us at the door and gave us our choice of tables. He then proceeded to take our drink orders and promptly returned with drinks in hand. He then explained his menu in detail and... More
