We love the shrimp enchiladas. They are the best we've ever had. The sauce on top is nice and mild, making the entire dish delicious. My husband and I do not like hot spicy food. We like to taste the food not the heat, and every meal we've had at Ernesto's has been very good and flavorful. The salsa that... More

This is a must stop for me and my wife, because this restaurant and staff always make it a great evening and meal. Their hand mixed margarita's will compare well to your favorite's and might even become your new favorite. My wife judges her Mexican restaurants by their tortilla soup and she loves Ernesto's. I live in the seafood section... More

I was here several years ago and from that past experience, I knew that I had to return during this business trip. Ernesto greeted and welcomed us at the door and gave us our choice of tables. He then proceeded to take our drink orders and promptly returned with drinks in hand. He then explained his menu in detail and... More

After hearing about Ernesto's I took my wife. Ernesto is SO nice you just want to love his food. He has several sauces to choose to have with your dinner. The problem is the is no sauce with a "kick" to it. My wife loves spicy food and their spicy sauce was bland at best. The best part of the... More

It's been over 20 plus years since we have been back to San Antonio and visited this restaurant but memory served us well as the food was as yummy as we remembered! Get passed the location and the ordinary atmosphere; Fabulous food and service!!! Ernesto took great care of us once again :)

My husband and I ate here based on reviews and I heard he has a musician playing on Saturday nights, which my husband would love. We walked in and greeted by Ernesto himself. He was as really friendly and welcoming person and the musician was playing older Mexican Ballads which made it nice. We ordered two Maragrita's and they were... More

I don't write reviews like this. In fact, this is the first one I've ever written. I've just never felt sufficiently inspired to actually sit down and do talk about an experience I had had at a restaurant, but Ernesto's did the trick. While travelling through San Antonio on a road trip, my fiancé tracked down Ernesto's and we decided... More

We celebrated our wedding anniversary with a fantastic dinner at Ernesto's. The food was incredible, the service was very personal and attentive. Ernesto recommended fried oyster and seafood crepe appetizers which we really enjoyed. We did not look at the menu because the specials sounded so good. And they were! The red snapper served with crabmeat, shrimp and lobster was... More

If you are a foodie this is a must. Ernesto is a french chef. Each dish is a creation of his. Have been dinnig with him since his openning years ago. Dont be put off by the dated interior of the resturant. The food is fantastic. Lunch is the best bargain.

This is always a great dining experience. We have been there many times even though we live 70 miles away. We are treated like royalty from the time we enter until the time we leave. We have taken many guests there and they are always soooo impressed. One couple said it was the best dinner they had EVER had. The... More
