Bohanan's is the premier steak house in San Antonio. Unlike other popular, and often quite good, chain steak houses, this is a local operation and has all that you would expect from a classic, proprietor owned establishment. Located centrally right across from the Majestic Theatre.

We eat here every time we visit San Antonio. The candied japalenos are like having dessert first. Everything else is perfect and large portions -- salads, steaks, vegetables, etc. Great bread, great drinks, and good desserts. The filet is perfect and the red snapper is the best we have ever had anywhere. Beautiful traditional atmosphere. 'just wish they would not... More

The staff was very attentive, knowledgeable, and polite. The candied jalapeno starter was out of this world! We got the coconut shrimp as an appetizer and it was fabulous. My husband and I both ordered a steak. He raved over his. Mine was of great quality, but cooked more than I'd requested and they must have forgotten to season it.... More

We have been to many steakhouses around the country and Bohanan's is right up there with the best. Pricey, but worth every penny. We went there on our last night in San Antonio and had a great meal. Terrific service, friendly waiters and the food was superb! We had filet mignon and a couple of sides and everything was cooked... More

Went to Bohanans with 3 others for a nice holiday business dinner. I have been here before as had one other in the party and had great experiences in the past. This time they were off just a bit. First off, this is very expensive so you should expect everything to be just right. My meal was excellent. The steak... More

We made reservations on a Sunday night, and glad we did as it was very busy. The staff was friendly and gracious and we were seated on time. Our waiter was outgoing without being too doting, and by the time we left, we felt as if we'd been friends forever. I ordered the ribeye with a loaded backed potato. Everything... More

How is this the number 4 restaurant in San Antonio? Bone in strip was so tough it was hard to cut. Sides were tasty but so small you can't share them with more than one person. Had to ask for bread. The tortilla soup was tasty but luke warm. They never brought my salad. Had a party of six including... More

We had to push our reservations by 15 min, and the restaurant was very accommodating, even though we arrived and they were packed (on a Sunday evening). It's upscale as you'd expect, for #2 rated steakhouse in Texas, but we were warmly welcomed even though we were in our very casual clothes. Started with Foie Gras and French Onion soup... More

On a recent visit to Texas, we decided we had to go out for one great steak dinner and chose Bohanan's based on it's reputation and the reviews. We enjoyed it very much, our steaks were very good and the room was beautiful. The service was a little over the top though. We were a group of three women and... More

So over the weekend was the 3rd time I have been to Bohanan's, early family Christmas dinner just the 4 of us. I have a very high bar when it comes to food and vino and as far as Texas goes this is as good as it gets. My first experience almost had me write this place off because of... More
