From baked Texas goat cheese with kalamata olives to fresh chocolate covered strawberries, the menu caters to the diversity of the food enthusiasts. Charles Court, at the rear of Zinc, is a truly serene gathering place for a rare outdoor experience. The private, spacious courtyard makes for a quiet sanctuary from the clatter of downtown city streets and the Riverwalk.

I liked Zinc. I did. I wanted to love it. I almost did. The food was solid, with tasty and tender escargot, a delicious mac and cheese, and a really top-knotch lamb burger, with fantastic sweet-potato fries on the side. My desert--chocolate lava cake (yes, very 90s)--was dry and almost powdery on the outside, but properly molten on the inside.... More

Came in early for dinner. Ate at the bar. Waited three or four minutes before one of the three individuals behind the bar acknowledged I was there. Other than the hostess, didn't see anyone smiling or engaging with customers, unless a friend walked in. Restaurant has a bar, separate dining room and outdoor area. Dining room seemed a little drab.... More

We went to this restaurant on our last evening in San Antonio. To be honest we weren't expecting that much. The restaurant is so self-effacing, so modest, so backward in not coming forward, it's almost funny. Even calling itself a wine bar (on the web it calls itself a bistro as well) in some ways underplays its strengths. It turned... More

Place with good food, super sangria and amazing atmosphere. Very cozy outdoor area in the back, and a nice getaway from the busy riverwalk. Helpful and friendly staff :D

We ate in the bar room after having been shown the "wine room", the latter being occupied by a large all-male group having a good time, but not for us. We ate in the bar, but were ignored far too long after being seated as several waitstaff and bar tenders compared notes,,,probably NOT tips… The blouse salad, like a Texas... More

Very good food and excellent wine selection with decent prices... too bad it isn't in a better location. I'd go back again.

We visited Zinc Bistro & Wine Bar over Labor Day weekend and had an excellent meal. I ordered the grilled ham, tomato, and cheese thinking it would be a small deli type sandwich and instead received a HUGE ham, cheese, tomato, and asparagus sandwich grilled on a Panini press. It was AMAZING! My husband had the zinc burger which was... More

Visited with a large group of people. The service was great and there were no problems with the food whatsoever. The servers knew their wine and all their recomendations were spot on.

We did a late dinner of several appetizers and a bottle of wine. The cheese board was the best I've ever had (honey comb, figs and many fantastic cheeses included) Server was attentive, atmosphere was nice and the hostess was very inviting. Sitting inside or out would be a treat for any occasion.

This was a great place to sit in the court yard, order a couple glasses of wine & try a few of their dishes. There were two of us for a girls weekend & we tried the flatbread & the "crack" burger. The burger was good, but we are suckers for a good flatbread and a tasty glass of wine.... More
