I was there for a group dinner held down some rickety stairs in the cool wine cellar. I realize this is not the normal dining experience, but it was fun and the food was delicious from the guacamole to the vanilla bean creme brûlée with berries. I had the herb crusted fish (drum) with chipotle red pepper beurre blanc

Whenever I would ask people in San Antonio about Zinc, they would say, "It isn't on the Riverwalk." But everyone loved it. The truth is that Zinc is just above the Riverwalk on Pressa Street and very conveniently located. I admit that I am truly in love with this restaurant. They do everything beyond any expectations I may have had.... More

I arrived late in the evening and the hotel restaurant was closed. A short walk brought me to this interesting wine bar. Great late evening crowd (after 10.00 pm) and the full menu was still available. The menu ranged from salads to pizza, from burgers to pasta. Prices were very reasonable and my meal was really tasty. A nice way... More

Zinc is about the right size for a bar and bistro. Not big, but not tiny. By my standards, the food is gourmet. I had guacamole dip (prepared at my table) and the crab cakes. All was delicious (though the avocado was too firm, not ripe enough to be perfect). I had a couple of beers that were new to... More

After hearing great things, especially being a sister restaurant to Boudros, we expected more. We had high expectations from friends who dined there the night before our reservations. The guacamole was overly acidic, with too much lemon and lime, the chips were very generic and one of the featured beverages "was not frozen" and not available. The shrimp po'boy was... More

We had just arrived and I found a review for this restaurant near our hotel and it looked interesting. It was Saturday night and it was crowded, but they seated us outside. It was cool but acceptable. Our server was fine, but certainly not particularly friendly. We ordered drinks and received them promptly, but things went downhill from there. We... More

We didn't eat but stopped on our way back to our hotel, for an after dinner drink. Hubby had a cigar and I had a couple of cigarettes......There is an out door area that we were seated in where smoking was allowed. If you prefer not to be around the smoke don't let this deter you. There are ample areas... More

My wife and I went here for dinner and were very happy with the service and the quality of food. I got the spicy mac n cheese and my wife got the fish tacos. Both were excellent. We of course also got a bottle of wine that was very well priced and finished things off with the pumpkin crème Brule.... More

We sat outside on a lovely Saturday afternoon. Our server was friendly, but a bit scattered and forgetful. We tried the truffle fries (a little soggy but flavorful), chopped salmon salad (fresh and light) and the pumpkin creme brulee (good). Prices can be reasonable, depending what you order. If possible, definitely sit outside!

Just off the riverwalk, classy place, good, quick and attentive service. The appetizers that we shared up at a high top table were good. Nice atmosphere. Could be a good first date spot!
