Root beer

The food looked and smelled awesome, but we were only there for the root beer. Homemade root beer is fantastic and very rich.

Best root beer I've ever had. Frothy, sweet, viscous, and refilled. And the Polish neighbor was good. But the sauce will bring me back.

Found this place when looking for breakfast. They have excellent food at reasonable prices. Did not go at noon on a Saturday since there was a line outside waiting. Went back @5 for a light evening meal and was able to get right in. Had the sausage one night and the tongue Both were excellent. At a price of <$8... More

I liked it so much I ate here twice. It is good food for a reasonable price with homemade root beer. It can get crowded and it is a seat-yourself restaurant. Be prepared to wait during peak lunch hours if there is something going on in town like a conference, perhaps. I ate a fritz chicken sandwich one day and... More

This is a great little spot for delicious sandwiches and deli type food...and the house made root beer is killer. Go for a nice break from typical Mexican food that floods the area. Nice crispy but not greasy potato pancakes...a welcome treat. Busy at lunch but worth the wait.

I have visited this place many times and have always found the food to be well prepared. I usually have the split pea soup with a sandwich. On my last three visits, I have been disappointed for different reasons. First, it was crowded and I was not allowed to order my food to go, so I ate at the counter.... More

...but glad we spotted it. This is a real, NY-style deli with Texas flair. Food was very good with lots of traditional deli food and some unique items. I had the potato pancakes and liked them a lot.

My husband and I visited on a beautiful Saturday, just after noon. We had to wait a bit to be seated, but thankfully the weather was great so we didn't mind standing outside. We ordered Reuben sandwiches, one split pea soup to share, and two root beers. The soup was very tasty and we loved the root beer!! However, we... More

We ordered the Reuben and reg. Pastrami on rye. We ordered German beer and their root beer. The sandwiches were on the large side. Plenty of meat. Was delicious.
