Cheap, quick, diner like breakfast.

Service was fast, not as friendly as other places. The food was cheap compared to the Riverwalk itself. 2 eggs potatoes toast ham and drink $9 and it was tasty. Food came very quickly. Since I couldn't find the breakfast I wanted:(

Arrived and was seated promptly. Waiter arrived and took coffee and water order. About 10 minutes for the drinks to arrive. Ordered food and waited a half hour. Another waitress said kitchen was busy BUT other diners came and were served before us. Must have lost order. Food came and was tepid and bland. They did give us a discount... More

Overall, a nice German place with a quaint atmosphere and good food. There is definitely some trouble with service though. The server seemed upset to see us. He seemed irritated with orders. After when he served food and refills the service was fine, but the attitude at the start was not acceptable. Three guys in suits is not about to... More

We had high hopes for this place, since it had some really great reviews. The services was really bad, especially since the place wasn't that busy. The food took a while to get, especially since most of it was from the bakery. The portions were very big, especially for the price. We won't be returning.

It was crowded and we had to wait for a table to seat our disabled friend, but the wait was worth it! The Pea Soup was fantastic, and the Reuben on German Pumpernickel Rye was absolutely delicious. Unfortunately for me, I misread the label and got their homemade Apple Struessel rather than the Apple Struedel that I expected, but it... More

We were vacationing in San Antonio and looking for something quick without a long wait. We saw this restaurant and looked inside to see ONE empty table. Soon after, a line started out the door. Apparently, we had arrived just in time. It is street level and does not have a river view, but it was still obviously very popular.... More

This is one of the few places downtown San Antonio where you can have a great lunch for under $8 and get quality food. Great menu items and my favorite soup.."I call it the green soup" Split Pea tastes great. Many people just buy that soup to go in larger containers. great selection of various items..even the hot dogs taste... More

I am not a huge fan of German food, but having found this restaurant my last day in San Antonio, I ate there for lunch and dinner. Part of the reason for my return was that I had grossly overeaten for several days, and here you could order just what you want. I had pea soup and a very good... More

This was on final stop before boarding our flight home. Unfortunately we just missed the breakfast menu, which would have suited our tastes more.

Had the breakfast and was shocked they dont make omelettes...scrambled eggs yes but omelettes no...go figa. Anyway, the breakfast was plentiful and good quality with accommodating and friendly staff. The brat was a nice add for the eggs and their own Schilos Hot mustard was to die for...you can buy one to go. All in all, very good I would... More
