TexMex in a Dream World

First-time visitors may have trouble pronouncing the name--it sounds like "Chewy's" to me, but it's well worth the visit. Chuy's started in Austin, Texas, but it has spread well beyond Texas in recent years. The San Antonio location is a fine example of southwestern kitsch--fake palm trees... read more

Great place to eat, not authentic TexMex but a nice change. The wait staff are great and the restaurant is clean. And don't forget to grab a margarita, happy hour (4-7) it's pretty nice to include their Nacho bar at no additional cost. If you like to eat outside they have a great patio.

Third time at chuy's and have never been disappointed. Looks like everytime I bring my wife to San Antonio, Chuy's is the place for us

I was very surprised at the large portions that were served. The food was amazing and the prices were very reasonable. Even the drink prices were very good, $5.50 for a regular margarita.

This is our go-to Tex-Mex (in San Antonio or when traveling). This location has a great, welcoming atmosphere and architecture. The large straw-thatched room or the fish-garland throughout... indoor or outdoor seating (uncovered), bar and appetizer areas. Food: Wow! That's what it's all about. Chuy's chips are light, warm and fresh. Their salsa fresca cannot be matched. Ask specifically for... More

This location has a great environment from the time you drive up in the parking lot! The decor inside it great and even though it was crowded when we went, they were prompt in seating and our service was great. The food is always excellent, but my heart always pulls me toward the fajitas, they are literally among the best... More

I really enjoyed my meal. Best I have had this trip. My only complaint was the excessive wait time for tortillas. My food was delivered and sat for about 5 minutes or more before I got the tortillas I had to ask for. Same story when I ran out. Food was great and will eat Chueys again.

I have to admit it - I haven't been to Chuy's since the Austin location called 911 on the Bush girls ( sorry - I just had to add that ! ). I was in San Antonio for business, stayed at a hotel nearby, and Chuy's was the best rated restaurant in the area. Even I can hold a grudge... More

Went there with daughter, her husband, grand kids & great grand kids, (10 total), immediate seating and great service. I ordered the 3 item combo, plenty of food, price ok, but not authentic Mexican food. I thought the salsa was really bad.
